It's looking like the original leaked rumor of 350 to 450 units is correct for the US. I get a range of 435 to 463.

Had a longer post but had to edit it. The rumors I am hearing fit with these numbers.

Good video! Lucky that European markets can option a leather steering wheel. Much prefer that to alcantra.

Also, I'm really digging the front splitter. Want to add the M performance splitter to my M2C, when I get it

Unfortunately this video isn't selling me further on the blue/gold/red. Trying to get those gold wheels is starting to feel like forcing a square peg into a round hole. We shall see.

Dave

I am with you 100%. HS with black wheels!!!

I could not even get past pic of video post showing gold wheels . . . beside that, the video will not reveal anything we do not already know about the M2CS. The topic has been pretty well beaten into the ground already. Only thing remaining is for interested buyers like yourself to take delivery.

They also picked the most unflattering initial angle of the CS. I may be facing the hard truth that black wheels will be in my future. I can't wait to take delivery in the winter with cup2s. Lol

Dave

As you know, I am not in the M2CS market, but if I were . . .

My first choice - also no secret - would be HS with black wheels.

My second choice would be the MB with aftermarket installation of those silver Apex wheels that COChris recently placed on his LBB M2C. Look awesome!

My third choice would be anything other than something with those gold wheels. Not only are they an eye sore, they actually look undersized compared to the black wheels, and accentuate the tire-to-fender gap.

I think this post just goes to show I have moved way beyond boasting the M2C over the M2CS. I am now focused on the trying to prevent anyone from purchasing those tragic gold wheels.

[VIDEO]
Another M2 CS static display video. No on-the-road onboard footage.

Basic info. She kindly pointed out most M2 CS highlights, but not all (for example she did not mention the Misano Blue Metallic color, the adaptive suspension, the gloss hood air intake or the different weave pattern of the sandwich-structured composite CF roof compared to the other CF parts, the fender wheel arch extensions, deleted arm rest). For the M2C a V-max of 280 km/h is indicated in an M2 CS vs. M2C table, while in reality it's 250 km/h and only increased to 280 km/h if the car features the M Driver's Package (BMW option code 7ME), which is standard on the M2 CS.

If it was the purpose to point out differences with the M2C (probably it was more general), reference to the gloss black kidneys, CF strut brace, side 'breathers', M seat belts and illuminated M2 badge integrated inside the M seats, could have been left out, as those are all stock features on the M2C (if you spec the optional M Sports Seats, that much is true).

She says that the rear diffuser was improved compared to the M2C: true that the M2C does not come stock with a CF diffuser, but AFAIK the M2 CS features the M Performance Parts M2 CF diffuser, which makes it doubtful whether the CF diffuser was newly/specially developed for the M2 CS (possibly an M Performance Parts reference on it - if any - was omitted, as also happened with the 763M wheels sporting the M2 CS: no M Performance Parts logo embossed). AFAIK the CF rear view side mirror caps are the ones of the M Performance Parts. However, true that the M2 CS CF front splitter, CF boot spoiler and CF roof all have a different design compared to the M Performance Parts iterations.

She concluded to have never seen that much alcantara inside an interior, while in reality use of additional alcantara is the implementation of the existing CS interior design language of the F82 M4 CS and F80 M3 CS (which, in turn, got sourced from the F82 M4 GTS interior). She also considered that alcantara on the hand brake gave it an even more 'race circuit' look, while that's a stock feature of the M2C too (with only the stitching color as difference: Fire Red for the M2 CS and either Polar Blue or Kyalami Orange for the M2C). You can spot the fender wheel arch extensions in the video.

No word how it feels to drive compared to M2C.

The only new feature compared to previous pictures and videos (though not pointed out): the stock leather steering wheel instead of the alcantara one featuring the red 12h marker (optional for EUR-spec M2 CS - BMW option code 70A). No reference to that optional alcantara steering wheel.

Other remark: in some of the video footage the gold matt wheels look more 'gold' colored than in reality (00:35-00:36 | 02:26 - 02:31 | 02:39-02-42). Hard to capture with camera. When seen in real life, the silver color is more dominant (otherwise said: silver with a touch of gold, rather than gold with a touch of silver).

I've seen the gold matt wheels up close on the M2 CS:
  • I rate the 763M wheels among the very best OEM wheel designs on a BMW (for my top 3, see here: 763M | 359M | 127M/163M);
  • manufacturer of the 763M wheels for BMW: SAI in Taiwan (see here, here and here);
  • gold matt color is definitely 'no go' for me; if ordered unseen, the buyer's remorse would instantly kick in for me and I'd get those refinished asap;
  • colors: it's a personal thing; I guess I'm too old and boring for 'bling-bling' gold matt wheels.

I agree, the 763M is the best and lightest OEM M wheels available for the M2 but the color gold just takes them to another level..

I'm the introvert type, I don't like to draw attention to my car but hot damn, gold 763M wheels is the first box I would check. There is just something about them that really adds some pizzazz to the model..

I guess I'm wired differently because I seem to be the only one that feel this way about them, which is a shame..

I do like them on the black car, but I think they might look strange on black in person if the heavy gold doesn't shine through. Wish I could see the wheels in person. Get the dealership to order one so I can carry it around from car to car lol

They're stock wheels. Whoopdeedoo.

RV fitment. Narrow widths and horrible offsets. Superior options in the aftermarket.

I feel like that's a subliminal dig but I'll take it as a compliment.

I also like Artemis' gray M4 CS - style wheels also but I don't why I'm more smitten by the gold option.

Maybe it's because I grew up listening to rap music from the '80, where they would brag about having; "gold BBS on my Beamer" and now I'm trying to live vicariously through their vision..

They also only weight 20lbs; for stock, 19 inch wheels, that's almost unheard of..
