Pre LCI M2 Passenger Seat flaw
Yesterday, I accidentally discovered the (from a particular angle when checking tyres and underbody) problem of the passenger side seat, I can see the fillings at the joint of seat back and cushion, surprise, surprise.
Really surprise, more disappointed to see such rough finish on a A$100k ///M car, especially when it was made in Germany. I asked a friend who owns F87 LCI (2018 model) to check the passenger side seat, luckily his car does not have the problem. Another friend who has owned several BMW models mentioned to me that his previous E70 X5 passenger seat had the same problem, told me to just bear with it... Ask: anyone who has a pre LCI F87 M2, do you have the problem?

That is disappointing. It appears that they did not get that seat cover on properly at the factory and most likely as people have sat in it the cover has become even more misaligned. I would take it to the dealer and see if they would cover the issue under warranty. There is a part number for the seat covers for the M2 so they should be able to order a new one and have it covered properly. Might not match exactly initially but I suspect it would be fine after a few months of use.

How many miles/kilometers are on the vehicle?
Seats don't look that weathered so it's safe to say not an extraordinary amount? That certainly looks like a defect to me. Pre-LCI here with 14.5k miles...don't have that issue here. I would definitely show that to your local dealer to get it covered. |

To be honest, I am quite disappointed for the build quality, considering the money we pay here in Australia. I will start talking to the dealer and look for a proper warranty cover for this issue.

Just got my M2 (2017) and noticed the same thing. Certainly disappointing. I also noticed a sizable staple holding the carpet down that is easily visible (driver side). Having had a couple of e92 M3's, I found this very unexpected.

Please let us know what solution they come up with. I went to take a look at my vehicle and it appears to have that padding slightly exposed on the driver and passenger seat closest to the belt buckle. But this is with both seats reclined pretty far back(gangster style). Your example appears to be excessive. |

I have a 2018 LCi (prod.05/2018) and have the same issue. We noticed it this past weekend and it's really disturbing. I occasionally (not daily) have someone in the passenger seat, but I'm in the drivers seat daily. The driver's seat does not have this issue.
