New 2018 M2 advice

a couple of questions:

1) I have removed the Dinan CAI from the M235. I trust I can pop that in the new M2?

2) I have his 710 VMR's 18" that I convert into his winter setup with his Nokian snows. Will the staggered 710's work with his M2?

Have to figure out how to upload some pics. It's the first M car in the family. Exciting.

For future reference to anyone viewing, you can click on the "view models" Dinan link to see what cars the parts work with.

As for the wheels, I dunno. Depends on the width and offset and if they'll fit around the M2 calipers. Someone else has to answer that.

They should clear the brakes, but the offsets are not as aggressive so the wheels will be sunken in to the wheel wells. You’ll likely want some spacers to make it look right. You’d need to post the specs of the wheels to get more advice on what spacers would work best.

P.S. can you adopt me?

Thank you so much. I wish I would have kept his Dinan Chip.

I was gonna ask if he would adopt me too, but didn't consider it appropriate since I'm 32 and don't need to go backwards in life lol

So I checked and it looks like these will fit on the M2. I think I have the 9.5's on the back but I have to confirm. Regardless, they work according to the vehicle verifier.

Fronts V13632-2
Size 18 x 8.5
Bolt Pattern 5/120
Hub Bore 35 mm
Weight 74.10

Rears
Size 18 x 8.5 or 18 x 9.5 (I need to verify, I thinks its 9.5)
Bolt Pattern 5/120
Hub Bore 45 mm
Weight 74.10

I'll give it a shot and if it looks bad we'll just have to do until next year when I have a bit more time to plan this right. Is anyone driving their M2 this winter and if so, what size did you with?

Check with VMRWheels. They have good support here. From what I was told, none of their 18" wheels are confirmed to clear the M2 calipers.

Edit: as for winters. I'm running a set of 265/35r19 blizzaks on stock rims.

The wheels will fit but would look better with 15-20mm spacers.

Are you saying to do 15mm in the front and 20mm in the back?

Hey, do you know if our Canadian M2's have TPMS?

Depends on the tyres and his (rwd) driving abilities. Get the best tyres there are

We haven't had much real winter yet. So I can't really comment.

Your VMRs without spacers would end up being 12mm further in than stock in the front, 11mm in the rear.

The stock wheels need 10mm/8mm to be flush.

So ideal spacers for your wheels would be 22 front and 19 rear. Since those don't exist I would throw 20mm on all 4 wheels. That way you can use H&R DRA type that bolts to the hub and uses stock wheel bolts.

Have you actually fitted these wheels before?

I contacted VMR recently and they told me they cannot verify that any of their 18 wheels will clear the brake calipers.
