Question about this, while there is no difference with the S55 variants, I do recall BMW stating that the M2 isn't able to handle the extra cooling required to get to M4 levels.

Being from Australia, and certainly having a great deal of issues with cooling during the summer, do you think this is just BMW's excuse for detuning, or is there a real risk of insufficient turbo/coolant capacity?

The engine may be able to handle it, but can the ancillary systems keep up?

It is the same exact ancillary systems. Cooling rads/intercoolers are all identical to all other S55 variants.

I remember reading the M3/M4 bumper allowed more airflow over the OG M2. So BMW M set out to redesign the front bumper for the Competition, with improved airflow to feed additional S55 radiators. The new one piece grill is functional, increased airflow over twin kidneys by 40%. Lower grill openings are larger as well.

Yeah I remember reading that but one of the reviews was saying that this power level was described as "the limit", I wonder how much of that is a physical vs M2 hierarchy constraint.

How do those reviewers know that the stick power level is the limit? There is a member alreasy running full e85 tune on his M2C pushing 600whp.

BMW's statement regarding the cooling is their marketing excuse. Of course they are not going to say "We didn't make M2C available with the same HP as M3/M4 because otherwise it would kill our M3/M4 sales". Instead, they come up this sort of "marketing" explanations to justify the lower HP on M2C compared to M3/M4. Bottom line is M2 is a lower model than M3/M4 and it'll have less HP than an M3/M4 unless it's some limited edition CS/L. That being said, watch BMW offer a S55 M2 CS/L next year with 430+HP without changing a single thing in terms of cooling (maybe with just an air vent on a CF hood).

M2C shares the exact same cooling hardware and mechanism as M3/M4, which is more than enough to handle much higher power levels.

Some bootmod3 features.

- Revert back to Stock and locked. No chance of tamper code showing once flashed back.
- No flash counter limitations - our dev cars have been flashed well over 1000 times. This has always been a BM3 feature.
- Flash date freeze - unique BM3-first feature, no other tool supports today. Flash date never changes when flashing with BM3.
- Flash counter freezes after OBD unlock

But if they dig hard enough they can find anything. It would just take a lot more effort.

Are there any dyno charts that compare the stock M2C versus the bootmod3 maps?

Also, I noticed on the website it states, "One OTS map/tune included with the purchase and any other maps labeled as "FREE"".

Is there a list of maps that are free somewhere that I could see? Basically, I want to know whether it is necessary to purchase the extra maps for $100.

Are there descriptions of the maps?

And of the stages? Stage 2 is usually if you have a catless downpipe, right?

And for the Aggressive burble, is there a note that says how it works? Is it just longer burble when you let off the throttle? Or louder?

Stage 1 is for stock cars and for stage 2 downpipes are recommended.

The aggressive burble tunes require cats to be removed. I assume that the burbles are louder and more frequent, but I haven’t tried them yet.

“CS+” is a new map with “more top end power” compared to the regular CS map. This map might prove to be the sweet spot for track days.

Ahhh... Stage 0 maps are just stock power with different characteristics?
Is that it?

Stage 0+ (M4 CS)
Stage 0+ (M4 CSL)
Stage 0+ (M4 GTS)

And Stage 1 is more power. Are few running Stage 1 for track, because it's just too much power?

Stage1 or Stage2 maps can be run with stock cats, but any of the AGG Burble maps is recommended to have catless downpipe if used for long-term so you don't damage the stock cats.

I'm running the stage 1 map on my car and I love it. I did drop the boost by gear on 1st and 2nd through to make it more controllable.

Stage 0 maps are the “OEM” maps.

If you search around, you can find dyno comparisons between CS, CSL and GTS. The best option of the Stage 0 maps is the “CS” map, IMHO. I’ve used this map on track, and the power delivery is nice and linear. That said, I look forward to trying the new “CS+” map.

FWIW, I use the CS map on track and the Stage 1 on the street. The ridiculous midrange torque of the Stage 1 causes wheelspin in the lower gears, but the passing power is effortless on the highway. This works great on the autobahn.

CS+ map is not a new map. PTF announced last week that their CS map was making a little more power up top compared to the OEM CS map. In orher words, the CS map that they advertised was their approximation of the OEM CS map but it ended up making slightly more power. As of last week, they started offering the OEM CS map and they renamed their own CS map to CS+. So CS+ is the new name for their old CS (the map you have been already using).

Hello, we have serious dct slip problems on a stage 2+ m2 comp. Tried to flash the gts sw to the tcu, but it has compatibility problems with the new digital dash. After 5 min of driving with the gts flash the dct stick to D mode, and the paddle shift and also the shift knob manual mode doesnt work. Do you have any solution to flash the gts sw to the new m2c ?
