BMW M2C Blown DCT?

Well I'm at a loss for this one but i'm fairly sure I just blew something up in the DCT on my 2020 M2C.

Was leaving a parking lot and went to shift to 2nd at about 5,000 rpm. Car didn't shift and then right around 6800-7200 rpm it just went bang as I was still trying to get into second. No crazy lights or anything but lost all power.

Popped it back in neutral and had it towed to bmw.

Anyone ever have anything like this before? I was fairly certain these transmissions were pretty bullet proof and while I do drive my car aggressively at times I never think I am driving anywhere near as hard as I would on a track.

Sounds more like a charge pipe issue.

Wouldn't I notice that in neutral though? In neutral the car is fine but as soon as you put it back in gear it sounds god awful.

Ouch, that sucks! Wishing the best for you. At least it should be covered under warranty!

Yeah was told it only wouldn't be if they discovered abuse. No idea what that entails but I would never classify anything I do as abusive.

Just sucks because I was only gonna really be able to only drive it for another week until fall comes. Sucks the last drive was just driving around on a highway.

Broke Axle?!?! To many times using the launch control? Glad to hear it should be an easy fix.

Curious as to if you were getting wheel hop at all (this time or in the past). It comes up on this forum occasionally and more often on F80 forum but I've definitely had it in my OG M2. I could see how it could snap an axle if you stay on the throttle or if it happened frequently.

I have experienced wheel hop twice and on both occasions it was in the rain.

I'm going to pay a bit more attention to her now when im driving her. Will say though that I have lost a bit of trust in the car haha.

If it is wheel hop turner motorsports sells a fix for it: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-turner-m...26773tms02~kt/

But since you are still under warranty my advise would be just drive safely in the rain, and wait until warranty is out before buying this kit. Since anything you break while under warranty will be covered.

I'm just glad it was a broken axle and you didn't spin the crank hub, that would've sucked.
