Install done myself, everything torqued to spec and position marked. After 1800mi absolutely no movement with the clamp or piped...just tips rattle like crazy. Tips are torqued tight and set screws have loctite. They don't move either. It is a resonating vibration rattle so to speak. I might try moving the exhaust back some but still need room for rearward movement due to heat expansion

Have you tried cold start with tips off ?

I ask as heard from 2 MPE owners here in the uk that have cured their buzzy/rattly cold start by wrapping tape around exhaust tailpipes before re-installing the tips - all quiet ever since.

If you try yrs with tips off for a few days and it’s better then maybe their fix might work for you??

Interesting...never crossed m mind
It is quite annoying but does not last long. If I din't think it led to my Titanium MPE cracking on the M4 then I would never think about it..... I am just always concerned it will lead to a failure

I did the matte black slat.... the color matches the other lower grills on the front. Gloss black will look out of place

I just gone mine today.
How do I know if I have last version?

Thank you.

Are the pipe diameters the same from stock to MPE? What is the OD?

I measured my MPE and what's left of my stock exhaust; main pipe is 3" then splits to 2".[/QUOTE]

I just saw this post so I have my answer.

This is actually a better example of the updated interface. Same as the MPE on the F80/82, they just have two pipes

Two pipes?

The one in the pic looks like mine.
Should I put on the existing resonator? I don't want drone.
What do you guys think?

The M3/M4 S55 MPE is a true dual exhaust but has the same interface pipe over pipe connection as ours

Installed exhaust over the weekend. it wasn't too tough of a job. The downloaded instructions I found, and this thread, definitely helped. Like m3Ruder, the hardest part for me was cutting the pipe, but I knew this coming in, having experience cutting my M235i exhaust. That material is thick and it takes awhile with the pipe cutters I've used before.

The MPE opening it also very tight fitting on the cut factory pipe, and it was tough getting the exhaust pushed on.

I really like the sound and it's different than what I expected. It's like the factory exhaust, just deeper and more burbly. I like that the normal-mode (sport-mode) is deeper and more aggressive than stock exhaust sport-mode. The flaps open/track-mode is really nice, but I try to avoid that mode in my neighborhood.

It's been a while and I don't remember. I have to wait until I can get to my personnel computer to see if I bookmarked it.
