2021 M2 Comp iDrive 6 -> 7 ???

I have a 2021 m2 competition, and it is running iDrive 6... is there a way to get iDrive 7 somehow?

If there’s a way, folks like kubax86 from outfits like https://bimmer-remote.com are likely the ones that can do it or point you in the right direction.

I highly doubt iD7 will run on NBT EVO hardware.

Doubtful wo some serious hacking.
Though I didn’t like iD7 that much anyways… it’s more confusing and difficult to use on the x7 I rented for a 6500 mile trip. Only thing I really liked a lot more was the navigation gave me upcoming gas and rest stops w arrows indicating direction in addition to distance so I knew if they were ahead of, to the side or behind my direction of travel. Really helpful with a 4 month old puppy on board and planning urgent wee/poo breaks or when she got super antsy and needed some time out of car during our 1000+ mile days on the road. Haven’t found anything nearly as useful in google maps or Apple Maps or Waze-please let me know if you know of anything.

iDrive 7 isn't possible and it will never be possible on M2 (F87)
NBTEVO will not run newer firmware.

Long live NBT Evo and iDrive 5/6. 7 was ok but now 8 and beyond look like a complete Mongolian clusterfuck that BMW will struggle to support.

Oh man... that sounds a LOT like a feature that was on my Garmin GPS like 2 decades ago. Its so incredibly useful it's made me angry that no one has brought back anything like it since in newer tech. Kinda wondered if it was some stupid patent issue or something.

Yeah exactly. It’s so quick and easy. Much faster than looking and scrolling and zooming around a map while driving with an excited puppy bouncing around between the front and back seats.
Oh well that’s progress I guess. Along with tap tap tap to turn on seat heaters or adjust AC

ID7 is good in my X5, but I really think ID6 is the sweet spot.
