Taking delivery today! 2021 HS M2C!
Words cannot explain the excitement today as I get to take delivery of my 2021 Hockenheim Silver M2C. The only other time I felt this level of excitement was my wedding day and the birth's of my two girls.
After 39 years of life, I am finally obtaining a "dream" car of mine (an M car). I've been a lurker on the forum for a couple years as I've saved money etc so I'm also excited to begin posting as a fellow M2C owner. This is my first BMW. Previously I've owned the following: 2013 mazdaspeed 3, 2017 Mazda MX-5 (Miata), 1991 MR2 Turbo, some Honda and nissan econoboxes and currently exiting from a Mazda 3 Touring. |

Congrats! I remember that day and how excited I was. Amazingly, seeing the thing in person was almost overwhelming. The car has serious presence in real life. Once you see it you will realize how poorly it photographs. Enjoy the day!

Only one single bummer... they forgot the carbon spoiler on the build. Came with a paint matched spoiler instead. Its fine I guess and saved me $760 off the final contract. They also tried to mark up the 0.9% financing but I complained and pushed back about 3 times and so they honored it in the end. Already have put 120 miles on the car since picking up today with about 4 hours behind the wheel transporting the car back home. Do I need to "bed" the brakes in at all? I noticed they are pretty squeely but that seems to be par for the course we these vehicles. Tint will be added in next couple days. Its already been ceramic coated and had some extra ppf applied to certain areas on the bumpers. What a day! |

Is that spoiler the build optioned carbon spoiler? BMW screwed up my build and put paint matched instead of carbon, but that carbon looks so much better. I might have to still replace mine with carbon.

Careful when you get it tinted, lots of people blow their amps during the process. The amp is located in the trunk, in a depression. Sometimes liquid will run down the inside of the rear windscreen during the tinting and pool where the amp is. Easily preventable IF you know it’s a problem.

It's not necessary to bed in the brakes but it won't hurt. After a few 100 miles, do a few hard 60-10 stops and allow time for cool down after that. My brakes squeaked more new than once the car had some miles on it.

Don't use the $99 ghetto tint shop/liquor store/massage parlor to do your tint job and you should be fine. ANY competent tint guy isn't gonna have liquid running down into the trunk from installing the rear film, that's insane. I seriously doubt that this is a "common" problem.

Congrats on the new M2C! I still remember getting my first M car in 2004 like it was yesterday...such a special experience!
