you should consider doing the complete rear bumper if not they make these small hockey stick pieces that should take care of it as well.

Yea I would've done the entire rear, this was like a last minute addition cause installer saw some hits there. I probably should've just got the whole car wrapped to be honest. We ended up adding a couple extra areas as the install went on from what I had initially planned on getting installed.

Other guys: I'll get some pics at lunch, its a bit overcast here though so can't guarantee great visibility.

FWIW, here's what I had done. Always hard to know where the rocks will hit, a bit of a gamble, and I didn't want to do the whole car...

(EDIT) Also, I would actually pay more attention to in front of the rear tires than behind them (not saying ignore). The front tires seem to hang out a bit more beyond the lower body than the rears, and of course when they turn that can increase. I think the paint in front of the rear tires is more likely to be hit. And if I did it over, I would have the factory "protection" in that area removed, and replaced with Xpel etc, and cover a larger area. The factory stuff is a little too small IMHO, and also has an intentional visible orange peel texture to it, I'm not really a fan.

Nice picture, yea thats exactly where my coverage is too, basically just follows the natural body line there and then swoops down. Shot some pics, suntek is damn near impossible to see on AW though. You can kind of make it out at the bottom where it doesnt follow the body lines. I had some hits inside the wheel well too of course.

The factory protection was removed and replaced by a larger X-Pel in front of the rear wheels on my car. After the rear wheels the same X-Pel cover as yours has been placed.

What did I do to it today? This should count, made my first payment on my car today.

Feels so good to make a payment on a car you truly enjoy and that not just a point A to B thing.

Also survived Hurricane Matthew with apparently minimal damage to all areas around us.

I really loved it out on the track, so much more predictable, fluid, balanced than the 1M. Car was completely stock, did absolutely nothing to it before hand not even change brake fluid as usually that'd be the minimum I'd do.

Took me a couple of sessions in the morning to get used to the gearbox (DCT), shift points, work out different settings (Sport+ etc) along with setting up my GoPro and figuring out how to use the laptimer on the steering wheel.

Next track day booked for Sunday at Winton.
The M2 is such a great all round package, fun on the road and very capable on the track. On the track it felt much more at home than the 1M ever did. Not wanting to start a flame war, just sharing my view on owning both cars.
That looks like a good time, well done.

What size did you end up getting Pyrat?

I have been looking for a square setup and saw you post on the Tire Rack thread looking for 19's.

I will most likely get those TR Motorsports in black as a track set but I know those TE's will be light

This was a tough decision but I decided to get two sets of wheels. I have always loved the TE37s but never had the right BMW until now so am getting them in face 4 staggered. 19x9 et 23 front and 19x10 et 34 rear. I will likely get the tire rack wheels for the track. I'm hoping that someone else will purchase first as I'm concerned about an 18 with a small stone, common on the track, getting lodged between the wheel and the outside edge of the caliper and scraping it up. Look at the F80 forums and you'll see complaints of this. My other track alternative is any strong and light 19x9.5 et 35 wheel. I'll add a 5 mm spacer up front. To round out my track setup I'm looking for a set of camber plates. I'll set once and forget with a compromise street and track setting likely about one degree more than stock. Just enough to eliminate outer front tire wear.

Thanks for sharing that concern.

I had not thought about the rock scenario. I emailed Keith regarding the weight of the TR setup but was hoping he was offering that setup specific for the M2 because they knew there was ample space between rim and calipers.

I was planning on getting 10mm spacers to run with the OEM wheels and would consider using them also while using the track setup since I believe they are +33 so with a 265 tire all around I would hope it clears since I will only be dropped around 1" on Eibach springs.

What tire sizes you plan to run on the TE37s and on the Track setup? I need to research a bit on 18" options, I ran Hondas and usually went with a simple setup on 15x8 running 225 Hankook, but there are many good 18" options.

I saw all your posts about the camber plates, I wish I could add input but this is my first BMW! But I hear you on the set and leave. I used my track car once or twice a month to work and left as is running same stiffness, camber and toe. I also left the carbotechs on cause I hated the idea of swapping pads every event.

My plan for the TE37s is 255/35 and 275/35. I'm highly confident Tire Rack wouldn't steer us wrong on the 18s but I do want to have someone go before me. As far as tire sizes for the track wheels, probably the 265/35s square in an RE71R.

Well I plan to get them as soon as they are available and they confirm they don't weigh a ton. Although TR Motorsport wheels usually are good at that. Thats the size I was looking at and you are the second to mention that tire. If I get them before you, I can try them out and report to you clearances.

Pads seem fairly easy to change on our cars.

And if I did it over, I would have the factory "protection" in that area removed, and replaced with Xpel etc, and cover a larger area. The factory stuff is a little too small IMHO, and also has an intentional visible orange peel texture to it, I'm not really a fan.
If you don't mind me asking, how much were these small pieces with installation?
