295 square slick?

I have searched the forums. Is anyone able to fit 295 18" square for just the track? My car is only a track car. If you have, what tires and wheels have you been using?

295 seems a bit extreme.. and I cant see that fitting safely on the front without rubbing and possibly blowing your tire on corners with high Gs. . Have you reached the limits of other sizes??

I run 265 square w/ 20mm spacers up front. It technically fit with 12mm but I wasnt comfortable with the gap.

I run square Pirelli DH in 305/645-18 on the track. Last time at COTA did this with a 10/11 stagger (not perfect but what I had available). 10 is too narrow for this 305 (destroys the sidewall) so afterwards started trying to fit 11s but wasn't going to happen. Settled on 10.5 for the front for now. 10.5 square is a viable option with this pirelli. Not the optimum for this tire - 11 maximizes its potential - but going to be hard pressed to find a faster tire setup for the M2.

The 305 Pirelli if not familiar with it is small for a 305 - smaller than a 300 Yoko. More like a 295. Yoko A80 compound slicks are slower than the Pirelli DH a bit but last longer. I would target a 280 in them since they run large (I do not think you would be able to get 300 to fit the front).

I just bought 18x10.5 ET40 VS-5RS and AO52's in 295/30R18's for my OG M2. It will require all of the negative camber, a 20mm spacer in the front and 0-5mm in the rear, as well as rolling the fenders and cutting a bit of the fender liner. Hopefully I'll have it all done this week and can post some more details and pics. Local shop guy runs the same 305 setup as above on the motorsports rims with a similar max negative camber setup.

Shouldn’t need a spacer or fender roll in the rear with that setup. Just -2.2 camber and trimming back the fender tabs.

Thank you for your responses. Just updating. We test fitted the VS‐5RS from my buddy's M4 and it's hitting the suspension even with big spacers. I still have the M Performance coilovers and it's a much thicker design than the newer JRZ and MCS setups. I'm gonna place my money there and then move up to the larger wheel and tire. It's really good to know I can fit 305 Pirellis on that setup. Very cool. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Ok update: it fits! -4 of camber and a 20mm spacer up front, plus a bunch of fender rolling and pulling and trimming the liner. Rear is -2 and some with no spacer or liner trim. There's still a tiny bit of rubbing in one or two places, but for most street driving it still feels fine. I'll be on track next weekend and will report back how it is under load.

I've got H&R lowering springs and SPL rear toe arms to handle the cranked camber in the rear and still have a sane alignment.

I'll try a slick later this year and see how it fits.

Had a track day today with the 295s: took a session or two and some additional rear toe in to make it feel stable, after that it felt really good. Tons of grip all over the place, and no rubbing on track!

Tried staggered (265/295) and square config, square 295/30/18 is the best choice for track only car. My setup - kw comp, apex fl-5 et40, 30mm spacers, rolled fenders

-4,5 front (modified camber plates or cs racing control arms)

also it is possible to use 20-25mm front spacers if cs racing brakes cooling is not installed
