Great color choice and since you liked the M2 platform, I agree that you will have lots of fun with this car, it is much more playful and substantial IMHO…..

In addition, you will appreciate the interior refinement that come with the CS - it is a different feel altogether.

I mean, the guy just sent $93K on a DCT CS. What depreciation are we talking about?

We all appreciate it. Buying at these prices keeps everyone's value protected. As long as people don't start to fire sale them we'll be good. I think most of the owners know what they have. Not many trading hands so supply and demand is keeping things reasonable.

I agree, supply and demand plays a huge role here. Where I am located, there weren't many options to choose from and in the spec I wanted/desired hence the reason I had to pay a premium, although my car only has 2k miles. Also, I had to trade in a car so I was limited to a search radius within couple hundred miles. I can safely say I have no regrets trading in the fairly new Type R. Even in DCT form, this car is a blast to drive around town, and I'm a fan of the MB paint scheme. Reminds me of my estoril e36 from back in the day...

Glad prices are holding steady. Mines on the higher side of mileage at 22k but I have no plans on selling, ever. Going to be buying another car in the coming weeks to month to use as my daily. Then the m2 will only leave the garage for pleasure drives.

What's the interior refinement? Missing arm rest and alcantara wheel? What else is making the refinement?

The quality of the seats are the biggest difference. Of course, if you call the massive alcantara steering wheel more refined, then that too. I have had both, M2c and M2cs btw. My first mod in the cs was the removal of the steering wheel and I added back an arm rest...

Coming from a Comp myself, I can tell you that it's the sum of all the little changes that make the interior feel substantially improved.

Alcantara wheel, much more premium feeling leather, better bolstered seats, gloss CF center console with Alcantara wrapped top, etc.

I know they don't sound like much. And of course all that stuff can be swapped out. But all combined, it certainly gives the interior a more premium feel and makes it a nicer place to be.

I also think a lot of that is subjective. But it sure works for me.

Manual cars:
Average asking price of manual cars on cars.com: $101k
Average sale price of manual cars (2023 sales) on both Cars and Bids and Bring a Trailer: $88k

DCT cars:
Average asking price of DCT cars on cars.com: $98k
Average sale price of DCT cars on both Cars and Bids and Bring a Trailer: insufficient data

That's a pretty big disparity for manual cars and speaks to why there isn't much movement of the national M2 CS inventory.

The seats to me were the biggest improvement compared to a Comp.

The seat design are, overall, similar. Missing the cutouts, but it's really the leather they use that is different. I remember sitting in a Comp and feeling unimpressed by them, but the CS felt more premium.

Def subjective, but I remember saying "No way I get a Comp with this interior."

That was my perception as well. However, I feel right at home in the CS. It may seem minor, but to me it is significant.

The M2 CS shares the same seats as the M3/M4 CS/Competition. The M2 Comp does not.

The CS seats also sit in a lower position, when set to the lowest setting. This was one of the first things I discovered when I handed the dealer the keys to my Comp and hopped in the CS to take it home. It's arguably the best part, at least for me. It's pretty odd, how high the lowest seating position is in the Comp.
