I have only ever seen one other HS car on the road. It was stunning.

LBB is most popular down here. I once saw an LBB M2C on a very bright sunny day light glinting everywhere that looked absolutely sensational. But I've also seen too many teal examples. If you like teal then that's perfectly fine.

Black seems next most common. Then white. I've also seen a few mineral grey examples.

I've only seen one SO.

I've owned silver cars my entire life. I needed something that wasn't silver this time.

Love the SO color. I would have gotten it if it was available on the M2.

LBB/SO pop while black/white/silver/grey go under the radar a bit. They all can work best depends where and when you use them.

As a LBB owner, I do think the color a bit too loud as a daily commuter in a professional setting. But everywhere else it just shines and get more compliments (=SO>>white=silver=black) and makes me feel a 20 year old again.

Between two loud colors - LBB shows its best in the outside and with no direct sun. Exposure to sunshine, SO works better. Black/white/silver colors are more versatile under all circumstances.

Here is a none edited shot I took today at the office parking lot, which reflect the color indoor well.
I think LBB does it's best work in the sun personally.

Looks kind of dull in the dark to me

To answer the thread title question . . .

Your third pic down (left front end close up) is the 'why NOT' for me . . . too much teal.

At any rate, as we all know, it is all subjective and personal.

Ahhhhh I get it now.

Very polarizing angle.

It's by far my favorite angle when all the colors come out.

Otherwise the color is semi boring in my opinion.

No, not in the dark. Lighting is the key to the brilliance of LBB and SO.

Outside with plenty lighting like in the sunset, but no direct sun lighting, LBB show its depth best. Also it's good in the showroom lighting. The SO, on the other hand, work with strong sunlight a little better when clean, because of its copper cue. The SO also show its best under the light where rich orange is reflected.

But, in general, the strong and direct sunlight doesn't go best with all these colors.

Black, silver, grey's "performance" are less subjective to lighting although HS does reflect also.

Not a fan of LBB on the m2c. I think it was the quintessential colour on the OG and will always be that to me. However, after 2 years of owning the colour myself and as much as I love it, I am ready for something else lol.

All so subjective. It doesn't matter what color you buy...lots of people will like it, some won't. There are even crazy weirdos like me that enjoy LBB's teal tint in the bright sun. :-)

It's way better than SO though. I love SO in the sun (I have an X1) but it just looks so brown in the shade. I think the LBB in the shade looks attractive as it brings up its teal tint.

From Hussein Al-Attar, the designer of the M2C himself...

https://www.bmwblog.com/2018/05/17/b...s-latest-work/

BMWBLOG: What exterior color do you think shows best the lines of the new M2 Competition?

Well if you’re going for a pragmatic, I-can-see-every-line kind of appearance, then Hockenheim Silver is definitely the way to go without being too conservative and still having a funky color for your car. The flashiest color that screams M2 is still the Long Beach Blue. But for a menacing look that shows the character of the car, I would still go for either Black or Mineral Grey, if still offered.

That takes me back. Those pictures are what sent me to dealership in May 2018 demanding to give them my money. The colour. The grille. The wheels. The engine. Everything really.

I think he sums up the reason why many chose HS even though we like LBB (like me). And yes, if Mineral grey was available I would have likely bought that (maybe not, because then we'd have 3 out of 4 grey cars at home )
