Color difference between Hockenheim Silver Metallic and Alpine White

HI happened upon a white M2C in my area and took some pics. This is in very flat, overcast lighting. Some people will also be curious to see the differences between bi color wheels and black, carbon diffusor and carbon spoiler, carbon mirror caps, and painted reflectors

Bonus if my NJ friend who contributed his car comes forward!

These are the best photos that show the difference between the wheel options!

Nope. Was looking to show the color difference in flat lighting. Just noticed that we had the different wheel colors. Not to mention you can tell my front wheels are a bit dirty.

Well... that makes it harder. I had HS with bi-color wheels on order, then I saw a bunch of photos where the "black" ones looked like the old shadow Chrome e39 M5 wheels (albeit always in bright sunlit photos) I used to have and changed to black... Now, I see these side-by-side, and the black just look like they're dirty, bi-color ones. Argh. I still have time and I still can't decide which will be better with HS.

Great paint comparison. The wheels on the white car must be filthy as the spokes look black but as we know are not.

Go black.

I have seen both and there is no comparison. The black one looks much more aggressive, more sculpted.

The white car in the photo is probably quite dirty as with its wheels.

HS definitely needs the darker 'black' wheels imo.

I dunno. Do the black wheels have more contrast in real life? The silvers look way better in these photos to me.

No not really.

My mate has an AW M2C with the silver 788s and I prefer the darker 788s which I have on my HS, gives a sportier look imo, like on the pictures above.

Cheers

There’s a cleaning issue in these pics, plus, it looks like they were taken in a post apocalyptic world, but I much much much much prefer the bi colour on HS. The “black” wheels look a lot better on SO though. Other colours it’s 50/50 but I am a sucker for the silver and black on BSM as it’s classic BMW.

I like the pop of the silver myself. I'll be mixing it up when I bolt up a set of "black" 437's with snows. I'll post some pics once I make the swap.

Can't really comment on how "clean" the white car was, but my car's wheels were not very clean, you can tell the difference in color between the front and back wheels. The paint however, was clean. I think the white car was pretty clean as well, because you quickly start to see dirt on the back of these cars.

Funny, I really hate the way huge 6 piston calipers on these cars completely disappear behind the wheels. Cars could have floating calipers from these pics.

That Audi actually looks pretty sweet as well, always been a fan of the Audi 7 (good highway cruiser).

Really great comparison between HS and Alpine White. I noticed it is overcast outside, if it were sunny outside do you know what happens to HS, does it go more white or gray? I know it has some color shift, there are no local cars at BMW in HS to check and see what happens if seen direct sunlight?

Thanks

Boy the CF spoiler really looks good with HS. I'm thinking HS with CF lip, mirror caps, spoiler, and diffuser is going to be a really good look as it seems like it plays of black really well.

Thanks for the pics.

To my eyes, both of these lighter colors look best with the black 788s. And because the design of the 788s is on the “busy” side, the darker wheels don’t appear to be quite as busy in my opinion.

Much like my 666Ms, these wheels have to be clean, and the tires need dressing on them to look their best. I clean my wheels a couple times a week, regardless of whether I wash the M3, for that exact reason.

I wasn't a fan on HS when I saw it because it has gold flakes in the paint, if it was just that chalk color I would've loved it. But that hint of Old man tan just ruined it for me

Thanks! Out in the sun, the metallic paint lightens up quite a bit. Looks much more whitish, definitely not a like a typical silver though. It is a unique, interesting color. Can't remember getting more complements on a paint color before this car.
