Need a power supply when flashing w/ BM3?

Hey all - is it necessary to have the car/battery hooked up to an external power source when flashing with BM3? I heard that flashing only takes a few minutes, but I don't want to take any unnecessary risks.

Do you NEED it? No. Is it recommended? Yes. You can grab a battery tender and hook it up to your car while you flash.
