Break-in service
I got my break-in service done today and I'm seeing a huge boost! I drove back to the dealership after experiencing the increased power, shaking with joy. The dealer sales tech was already outside waiting for me with a knowing smile and subtle nod as I pulled up. We high-fived immediately and I nervously asked in a high-pitched voice what could possibly have explained the 10%, no, 30% increase in torque. He flashed a smile and in a confident, almost school-principal-like tone, told me that it boils down to three things:
1. They remove 4 100lb weights that are hidden under the body of the car. They are there to assist differential break-in. 2. The factory-installed fluids are in fact cursed using an ancient bavarian magic (to limit the car so no harm is done), and is continuously recycled so it can be shipped back to factory and installed in the next M car on the production line (the spell has been lost for decades). 3. The throttle response is tweaked via ECU-flash So there you have it folks, once and for all. The great post-break-in performance we all see is indeed real. Thanks for reading. |

mate, hes yanking your chain haha
that said, post-break in does feel unreal, not keeping traction on rolling acceleration is new to me- on sport no less, haven't even ventured into sport+ yet. don't want to pull a mustang so early in the ownership..

April Fools is the first day of April, not last. My mistake.
In all seriousness I've seen changes in the car's character and sound as she broke in over time. Very noticeable from 500-800 miles. |

C'mon man. Everyone knows that after break in, they just install an M2C S55 engine.

Damn, my break in service must have sucked. I was in the shop with my buddy who did it for me and he didn't remove any weights. The computer just cleared the break in message, and the fluids were changed. Car feels just the same as before. I guess I will leave those 400 lb weights attached lol
