Yes, we have the pad tension kit for the CP9668 front caliper, which is the one that accepts the thicker 25mm pad and can use the quick-change spring clip. (we have the pad tension kits for all the front and rear Pro5000R Radi-CALs). You can see the tension kit for the wider caliper here: https://www.essexparts.com/essex-des...p9668-calipers Also, here's an article on the CP9668 vs. CP9660 caliper...explains the differences. We know all the numbers and acronyms can be a bit confusing: https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...9660-or-cp9668 Here's a short vid we did on the quick-change spring clip we use in the CP9668: |

Cost is the primary driver. The stainless steel, ventilated, domed-back pistons we use are incredibly good at keeping heat out of the brake fluid. Titanium is slightly better, and is what we use in F1, NASCAR Cup, etc. However, the cost of titanium pistons is in the neighborhood of five times what the stainless costs. As such, it reaches the point of diminishing returns for the typical enthusiast. The ROI for titanium just wouldn't be there for 99% of our aftermarket audience. The stainless keeps the cost reasonable while still adding features and benefits unavailable elsewhere.

These just swap in, bleed, then good to go? Had a bit of a headache on my 440i when I upgraded the brakes I had to code in "sport brakes" or whatever to bring back the pedal feel. And then putting the stock ones back in I had to code again.

I do have a constant pad wear sensor light showing on my dash, but I'm over that.

That’s an easy fix though. You can replace the sensor but don’t put it into the pad. Just zip tie it out of the way.
That’s what I do with the stock brakes sine I change between street and track pads 3 or 4 times per year. |

Yeah, I should get that done. Bit annoying the firm who installed it left it like this, but hey ho.

I think the brake pad wear sensors can be coded out right?

How are these on the street? I would get these literally just to fit certain wheels on the car. Do they dust up like crazy? These stock pads made my wheel bucket super dark after one week and like 50 miles.

They probably can be. I've got a few bits I need to code out now.

Great on the street. I use Ferodo DS2500 and they are excellent. No squeal. As for dust, I couldn't say as it's not something I pay much attention to and I have dark wheels.

I just looked more into it and if I do pull the trigger there seem to be a bunch of other pads I could pick up for them if I don't like those.

This is correct - there are definitely other options besides Ferodo for these setups. On the 2500 - squeal & dust are not very noticeable - but since everyone's tolerance level on these is different I hate to just claim 100% they are a non factor. I personally am happy with my Ferodo setup - 2500 on street & 1.11 on track and looking forward to trying out the 3.12. But like you said there are certainly other options available, just got to find the ones that work best for you.

Yes sir. Our systems are pure bolt-on. They won’t create any problems. Brake pad sensor is only thing to be dealt with. Sometimes a second bleed is required to get all the air out of the system, but that is the case any time you change calipers.👍

Our systems intentionally use very common pad shapes. All major pad manufacturers make the shapes that fit them. That’s actually a big advantage of ours....huge range of pad options for any driving environment.

I think it's unlikely since they use a special hard anodized coating (instead of paint like most other calipers) in order to better handle the heat and abuse seen at the racetrack
However, I suggest contacting them directly for the definitive answer They have a very knowledgeable and helpful staff |

Correct...our Competition Kits are specifically designed to resist track temps, hence the anodizing. We are just getting set to release our new Road Kits for the M2. You can see the details in the thread below. Our kit for the M2 will be essentially the same, except obviously the brackets/hats will be custom designed to fit the F87 chassis. It sounds like these may be what you're after driver91.

Going back to this subject, as I just purchased my AP Essex kit. I went with 9660's up front as my car will not be doing any endurance racing, so 18mm of pad is enough for me. What I was made aware of, regarding the 9668, stock OE comp wheels would need a 5mm spacer to accommodate the wider calipers. I use Apex EC-7 wheels at the track, and these probably would clear properly, but I didn't want to mess with spacers, if I could help it.
