M2 vs M2C

Recently replaced my 2017 MG M2 with the new 2019 HS M2C. One month in, I'm super-excited with that move, but would gladly open it to discussion...
Would anybody else on this forum definitely/not_on_your_life do it?

The truth is that neither of these cars appeal to the sort of drivers that made the BMW brand.

I have an LCI 2018 M2 6MT manual. It reminds me of the bottle of 2010 red Burgundy I had with dinner tonight with my business partner. Don't get me wrong, I love 2010 red Burgundies, and it is one of my all time favorite vintages. But this bottle, from a producer and vineyard that we both like, was uninteresting, flat, and monotonal.

I have 3 older BMWs, all manuals, and every single one of them is way more fun to drive than my M2. I'm sure that I'd have the same opinion of an M2c; too automated, too electronic, not connected to the human driver.

Powerful; yes. But unconnected, akin to driving a car in a video game.

I would not trade MG for HS silver, that is for damn sure. M2c over M2... but the colors available?!?! :

I have a 2017 and I wouldn't spend the money on upgrading to a M2 C. In addition to financial reasons, I also wouldn't be able to make use of the M2 C's added power to offset the much inferior sound of the S55 and the (marginally?) worse fuel economy.

Bullshit - then why did you buy the M2? Did you test drive it?
The OG M2 and the M2C are fantastic cars period - you must be tired of it...or something.

Since I'm already in an M2, I don't see the point of M2c. If I wanted an S55, I'd get the M3.

I made the jump from a 17 M2 LBB 6MT to a 19 M2C HS 6MT, no regrets.

I did test drive it; it's the best of a bad lot of what passes for a "driver's car" these days.

I don't regret buying it because there was nothing better out there to buy, then or now.

I would ask you if you have ever driven one of the older cars BMW used to make?

BMW is no longer targeting the same type of driver as they used to target when the brand became famous for being the creator of the "sports sedan."

I suspect that you are a typical newer buyer, which is fine, BMW has to sell to someone and they probably won't be selling to me in the future.

What made the previous beemers more drive worthy, other than steering

The m2 was hailed as best drivers car in a long time

I had three M3's in the 1990's plus a 540 6 speed and then an e39 M5 which I had for 9 years and 275K miles.
