Not worth upgrading to EU5 just for a few extra hp, extra tuning, too much stress on Pure500 etc.
This wasn’t my experience using emix, Bend Cal, and a Pure500. Bend Cal wanted the EU5 in place with Pure500 for where I was going with it on Emix. I’m not going to litigate it here, but I recommend just doing the EU5 while in there when going with Bend Calibration.

I've been running EU5s, Bend likes to play safe when you're trying to push close to 500whp, and I agree with it. But it's not a must. Plenty 500whp full E running stock injectors out there, such as Zack's track tested TTE460.
It all depends on injection duty cycle, I bet Ian would let you turn on that parameter in your app too.

Yep. Aware of this. It’s a Bend Calibration specific thread so my guidance is here to support anyone following the same path.

Bend Tuning Update – Three Revisions In

Quick update on the Bend tuning process—we’re now three revisions in on 98 pump fuel, and things are coming together beautifully.

Here’s how the process has gone so far:

✅ Rev 1: Warm up the car and log idle for 2–3 minutes.
✅ Rev 2: Highway cruising for 3 minutes + one WOT pull (Map 1: 2K–5K RPM).
✅ Rev 3: Two WOT pulls:

Map 1 (Track): 2K–7K RPM
Map 2 (Street): 2K–5K RPM

Now, to be completely honest—after just three revisions, the car is buttery smooth. The throttle mapping with traction off? Absolutely unreal. It’s actually smoother than stock, which is something I didn’t expect.

I can already tell the finished tune is going to be next level. Map 1 (Track) is targeting 18–19psi, while Map 2 (Street) is hitting 20–21psi—and it feels dialed in.

Super impressed with the process so far. Can’t wait to see how it all comes together in the final stages!

It also depends on lambda targets and application. More fueling is never worse, especially for the road course.

My car still work in progress, Ian definitely knowledgeable with lots of experience, my car runs and drive nice and smooth it’s surprising with all the mods. (good response)
I had few issue at the beginning he was on point to point out the exact issues.
Ian and -Eidos helped me through out the build.
I’m impressed with the tuning and how careful Ian is in making sure everything runs as it should before adding power.

A tuner can only do so much... I absolutely ensured that my car was in tip top shape prior to engaging Ian's services. Its up to the owner to give the tuner a good clean platform to develop and refine. To Date all going well

My car is in absolutely top shape , everything works perfectly, my setup is little more complicated, lots of mods and wiring, issues and mistakes can happen, most of them were discovered by Ian With logs.
Example :
ecutek was reading the ethanol Contant but it wasn’t showing up in the CAN.
Anyways Im proud to say the issues were all created by me and fixed by me lol.

Thats Great I hope you get your integration issues resolved... wiring sometimes can be a real pita. I found the CAN integration P&P harness pretty basic and very well developed. Heaps of time has gone into the production of the harness to make the process simple for the end user. Kudos to Team Bend.

On one of my tunes, the initial throttle response feels "sporty" like the car is always ready on boil. This is different from the other tunes that offer more torque, but the tip in response isn't as good.

I've severly underestimated feel until driving the car like this again.

Also didn’t appreciate the “driveability” improvements with Bend Cal. Leaving stop lights in 1st gear in my 6MT, the “shudder” is gone that would show up once the trans warmed up. The Bend Calibration throttle map and engine cal make the car drive better than it did stock, in addition to the power increase. It’s wild.

Bend Calibration & Ethanol Tuning Update

Just wanted to give a quick update on the Bend calibration process—it's been a journey, but I'm really pleased to say we're now deep into the Ethanol tuning phase after seven revisions. I've really found my rhythm with the process now, and I reckon we'll have everything wrapped up within the next week.

At this stage, I have both a Track-focused calibration and a Street calibration dialed in, and once we're done, I'll be requesting a Kill map and a Valet map to round things out.

Ian has been great to deal with throughout the process, and he even complimented the setup and preparation of the car, which was great to hear. Right now, we’re running E25% and dialing that in before pushing further.

Exciting times ahead—can’t wait to see how it all comes together!

Cheers! 🚗💨
