Did you have electric or manual seats as standard?

Trying to put them in my M2 Comp, came with electric memory heated seats, got the seats in and all stuff repinned just can’t seem to get the heating to work, not sure if I’ve missed something or if it’s just the elements that have gone in the seats. I’ve swapped over the module to my original ones

With module do you mean the black box? It's the black box that handles the heated seats, both for you back and bottom. Should be plug and play as the wiring is identical on the M Performance seats and the M2 seats (at least my manual seats).

And did you move over your yellow main connector from your original seats as well?

I have some pictures in my thread at Rejsa.nu from when I swapped the seats, you might find some of the pictures a help.

Yea I took the original module black box off of the seats and plugged the ones from my M2 seats on the Recaros?

I’ll have a look through the pictures thanks, any other help is much appreciated

That sounds correct.

I moved over the big yellow connector from my original seats as well, but I suspect it might be harder on a fully electric seat. On the other hand the pins should be identical on the manual and electric seats but that the electric seats use a lot more pins. The "basic" pins (airbag, heated seats, sensor mat and inflatable side bolsters) should be the same though.

I didn't get the sensor mat to work as the M Performance sensor mat is a 3 pin connector with an external chip, the original is a 2 pin connector and I have no idea if the sensor mat has an external chip. I can see a fault code if I scan for codes, but no warnings are visible in the cluster or I-drive so I'm assuming the airbag would go off in the event of a crash with or without someone in the seat, kinda like a fail-safe if the sensor mat would be faulty.

Yea got it all moved over and repinned, no warning on for anything but same as you do have a fault code for the occupany sensor.

Just can’t the heating to work, press the button all 3 lights come on then just goes straight back off and can hear a click noise which I’ve read in E9x forums that if it does this the heating elements could be gone but just wanted to check I’d got everything done right with the seats before going down the route of trying to replace the elements as that’s a looking like hard work

In that case the heated seats should work.

I’ll try to find my pictures but there was an additional ground pin needed on the passenger seat. The driver worked normally. Did your M2 come with heated seats or are you adding this feature?

Thanks bud that would be great if you can

Yea car came from factory with heated seats, just thinking with them being old used seats that elements might’ve gone then as neither works currently

Isn't the extra ground pin in the passenger side harness for the sensor mat which the driver side harness doesn't have?
