The track season in the land down under draws closer as the colder temps are coming, can't wait to get back out there!

Just curious - is it a rule in America to track with your windows open? It's a requirement in Asia generally to keep your windows closed due to safety, they say because "things can fly into your windows and hit you" such as rocks and tire slag.

I track in Canada and they give you the option, closed or all the way down.
Down let’s you hear the car more plus
you don’t need the A/C 😉

Ah. It's winter season for me right now so windows down is super cold! Usually around 2-5C at the track during the day.

Personally I like all the way up (if given the opportunity) because it reduces aerodynamic losses due to air flow into the cabin. This means less drag and better air flow off the chassis and roof (which is important if you have wings)

I’m the US the safety claim is you’re easier for emergency crew to extract with windows down. Our local orgs require this even in the rain, though most will let you roll your pass window up in these situations.

Fortunately I only see a max of 121mph where I run. At Road Atlanta or COTA with speeds touching 150+ it has to be unpleasant.

In the UK you have to have it up.
You’re allowed to have it open an inch or so for ventilation.
Seems bizarre to have to it open all the way.
If you have a big off and they need to pull you out quickly a smashed windows would be the least of my worries

Drag strips in the US will throw you out for running windows down with the logic that in an incident you don’t want limbs flailing outside the window.

Safety is a fickle beast. When I started out I had an instructor refuse a Schroth Quick Fit Pro due to sub risk only to strap on the 3-point and roll

There's a couple of shots in here with two wheels off the ground, and I'm fuckin loving it! Beautiful shots. Back when I had my Miata and was autocrossing it we had a guy come out with a great setup and just take pics of everyone. I've got a couple from that shoot I still love.

I've managed 3 off the ground, not going for 4 though, that probably hurt my coilovers way too much
