Which tuner?
Background: Planning on installing The Turbo Engineers TTE 550 w/ necessary accompanying mods. Deciding on a tuner. W/o bashing individual tuners, who would you choose and why?
Halim Cary Jordan Paul Johnson Sorry in advance if this topic has been covered. |

What tuning software?
BM3 = Halim, from what I heard he's quite quite good. MHD = Twisted tuning, excellent tuner and makes the ots maps for the E series n55 Ecutek = cookiesowns from bend calibration, another excellent tuner for ecutek

Halim is great.
The only issue is he's pretty busy and focused on developing OTS maps. I don't think he's done a custom N55 map in quite a while, except when myself and some other guys were working on beta maps for the new Stg 2+ E30 OTS map. cookiesowns (Bend) seems to be the most responsive custom tuner around for N55 guys. |

Just better to focus on one platform and get things done right. We also don't do volume so that's okay for us. Just ask -Eidos the amount of time we spent working with him on his build Good things to come soon though for those that wait. We should have the ultimate fueling solution coming out soon that will be capable of 600+ DI only on full E85 reliably and safely. No more running 23MPA+ on injectors only rated for 20mpa If you want BM3 or MHD, I'd talk to David Shoup, him and I have shared notes back in the day when I first got my OG M2.. good guy. Tell him I referred you, if you do decide to go with Shoup.

We've replaced the factory fuel injectors with F10 M5 EU5 injectors as we were starting to run out of injector on high ethanol mixes (540-550 WHP SAE).
cookiesowns was able to work his magic within two to three revisions. S55 owners are starting to tinker with these injectors as well as they push the power limits on direct injection. For the HPFP, we're working with a company on developing a "Stage 3" solution that allows us to push more than 600WHP SAE on full E85 safely while still remaining on direct injection. Let's call it 120+% more flow over stock in it's current form. That's about as much as we can share right now.

Seems like a lot of threads are converging onto this one notion so I just want to outright say it. Do not get your car tuned by Cary Jordan. It's not worth it. He knows how to market himself better than how he knows how to tune cars.
If you decide that a custom tune is the route for you, please please please contact any of our reputable forum members about custom tuners and they will point you in the right direction. You can even start a thread on it. Do not listen to any third party vendors. Your car deserves better than some of the crap I've seen out there. Who to contact: cookiesowns F87source ZM2 Nezil nioh_lbbm2 Daleb detroitm2 I might be missing people, but these are the ones that I know of that are help pushing the platform and collectively have tons of knowledge.

Can't go wrong with Bend Calibration! They have a meticulous team doing amazing stuff and Ian has over 15years of experience tuning many standalone equipped cars over 2k hp even. Both my Turbo E46 M3 and M2C are tuned by Bend.

I used Bend and highly recommend. Custom tuning requires a long straight road where you can log 4'th gear pulls. I have a perfect spot where there no entrances, exits or police, LOL. You'll need to do this several times so they can get your tune perfect for your car/mods/fuel. Well worth the effort.

cookiesowns - do you know how to tune for MILVS? Can ECUteck do it (valvetronic tables have to be changed, and I'm sure the timing curve adjusted)

+1 mm intake lift, 2-3° of intake cam duration extra, if that helps.

Cause if not, what would the tuning get you if you're already at the maximum amount of flow with the MILVS in place and stock valvetronic tables other than maximizing BSFC, and making sure we're still within limits of MBT Unless somehow there's a calibration process for the DME to know the now new maximum amount of valve lift, which is usually capped to around 9.7mm, but if it's a mechanical change, and there's really no direct position sensor other than eccentric shaft positioning, i'm not sure how that's the case, and a 9.7mm target would now be 10.7mm again, assuming it's a linear change. I'm going to have to wager that most of the tuning is simply just increasing torque demand appropriately to take advantage of the additional valve lift, and flow benefits of the duration, while making sure injection windows are still within optimal range. Given that if @yourtuner is tuning with torque in mind, more airflow = more torque, thus the car will target less boost to achieve the same torque demand., meaning raise torque barring ignition timings the same = more boost = moar power, which is where your gains are. That said, I'm game if someone is game Maybe have to poke @-Edios to do it.. Sorry for hijacking your @fgc7533

Yes it's 10.7mm of lift with the MILVS.
