Lightweight performance exhaust

Looking into more exhaust options on the M2 and came across the one Lightweight performance sells for the N55 M2. Anyone know anything about it? Can't seem to find any videos online.

I had one on my 1M, same engine basically so I doubt it would be a very different sound. It is nice for an axle-back. The quality is good and the sound was nice, although a bit generic.

For your M2, it would depend how this exhaust sits price-wise versus the Remus or the M Performance. I have the Remus on my M2, it is a different dimension in terms of sound. Personally, unless the lightweight was less than 50% of the price of the Remus, I would pass. This is of course for the stainless steel version.

Now, Lightweight made its name for its amazing full titanium exhausts which have great pricing compared to alternatives. I would have gotten this over my Remus if I could get it in a street legal version here in Switzerland. Pricing is fairly similar.

Hope this helps.

You won't regret going for the Remus ! I suggest finding a way to control the exhaust flap manually, either through the sound controller or one of the bluetooth apps. This will give you the option of having a nice, quiet exhaust when you want to.

I still have a system in house that was manufactured by Lightweight. The current exhausts are now Akrapovic-manufactured systems, with Lightweight-branded tips.

The way that's designed, seems to me it would be sucking in air from the center two pipes, due to the back pressure created as the exhaust passes by the center pipe to exit the outer pipe. You'd need a Y-pipe to eliminate this effect. Like what we see with the MPE, and, to a lesser degree, seen in the version of OPs listing picture.
