Illuminated Door Sills Discontinued
So these M Performance part door sills came on my LCI as an option item on the original vehicle sticker spec list. They stopped working so had them fixed at the service, but then BMW discontinued it and they are replacing w/ carbon fiber ones.
My question is: is this acceptable and what if the illuminated sills were more expensive (double the price retail) than the new carbon ones? Should I complain to the manager and does anyone have anything similar or experiences they can share? Thanks! |

Seems acceptable to me. Both versions cost ~$275usd. I would just let them be replaced with the new carbon versions. They'll be way more reliable.

I agree, I would take some carbon fiber sills, as a warranty exchange, without hesitation.
They didn't offer me that option and I didn't push for a replacement, I was just told there was a blocked order, TBD replacement. But that's a fair trade, they come up to about the same price as the M Performance LED versions, so it's an even exchange, minus the LED function which was cool but small potatoes.. |
