Hi all, does anyone know the location for the horns on an 2018 LCI M2 ? One of the dual tone horns has stopped working and it's quite embarrassing now sounding the horn as it sounds like a clowns horn and "camp" ! It is still under warranty but thought I'd take a look first to see if it's a quick fix - thanks in advance.

It's behind the bumper. Remove the front wheel arch cover then you will see.

Yeah I got cut off by a bunch of Mexicans in their big ass landscaping truck

I honked at them and I'm not sure who laughed first might've been them but I think it was me

Glad I found this thread! I just bought a 2017 M2 and was wondering what the hell cartoon horn this car has. Apparently my low-pitch horn is out. I had no idea!

My 2018 is suffering from 1 intermittently (but more often than not) failing horn as well. For those who looked at their horns themselves, what was the actual issue? Did you replace your horn with a new one? Was it loose wiring? Mostly curious because mine seems to work sometimes, but more often than not it sounds like a clown car.

I could get the dealership to look at it, but rather not have them touch my car if it's not really needed. Thanks!

Just happened to me this morning. Clown horn. worse than a scooter. Will this necessitate a replacement of the horn or just a connection issue?

Both Horns more than likely

Go to your dealership and ask them if they will replace them as a known issue under Goodwill !?

It’s reasonable to ask for Goodwill on something that breaks that normally should not break at all…

Show them this thread, if need be

If I had to do it myself, it wouldn’t be that bad just have to go in through the left wheel well liner to gain access

Can we buy a hella and just replace it with those? I’ve never had a horn fail on me, this is kinda insane. If I replace it with another, may just repeat the issue again.

If it sounds like a clown car, what most likely happened is that your low-pitched horn died (the one on the driver side). The high-pitched one is probably fine, it just sounds funky because usually, you hear both at the same time.
