I'm pretty sure that owners with issues also don't come to the forums to report it as well.

can you post the links to your videos?

No kidding. Happy owners aren't on forums? That's a new one. Remind me while I'm here again being happy with my OG M2? No reason to make lame excuses as most of us have been on car forums for a long time and know how things work. First of all let's not blow things out of proportions as while there seems to be more issues with the M2C the problem threads are still few and far between. Second of all we all know the S55 is a considerably more complex engine than the N55 with double the turbos, more complex cooling, etc. More complex means more parts that may require attention so there was always going to be a bit of a tradeoff in reliability going from N55 to S55. Still if I was in position to by a new car today I would purchase an M2C over an OG M2 regardless of a slight decline in expected reliability as that's the price you pay to get more power.

Mike (OP), have you got your M2C back yet?

What was/is the problem, did it end up being fueling related?

Don't have back yet - or even an update from the dealer.

I've been fairly well distracted with work. I really should chase them up.

Two weeks without an update from the dealer is insane. It's a new car. I hope that they gave you an M2C for a loaner 🙄

Chased for an update today.

Problem is fuel pump.

I was talking to sales guy, neither of us very mechanically minded. But as he explained it to me, there two fuel tanks either side of the prop shaft. One wasn't draining/pumping to the other.

Which I guess means one tank was full, the other empty. Fuel indicator at half level supports that?

Anyway. Should have car delivered back to me either over weekend or next week.

Bummer! It seems unreasonable to have a new car with so few KM's leave you stranded.

Echoing above, two weeks without dealer instigated communication/resolve is unreal.

Here's to it being resolved smoothly for you and the M2C performing flawlessly for you moving forward.

Easy fix. Glad it wasn't anything serious.

Glad it's all fixed, these things happen sometimes.

BTW you have a nice view from your driveway...

And 6MT for a reg plate? Pretty cool IMO.

Sorry to learn about your mishap, Mike. It sucks, but it's okay now.

Your car to you: "Do not judge my story by the chapter you walked in on."

I might be thinking of someone else, but i'm pretty sure i watched a youtube video made by the OP and he said he had to jump through some hoops to get the 6MT version down in NZ.

Yes, that's correct. With NZ being such a small market for M2 & M2C. Any NZ New M2 & M2C pretty much everything is ticked in terms of features, which is part of the reason why they're quite pricey in NZ. Retailed at 128k NZD (82k USD).

Standard optionals are - These are from NZ's Price builder from the dealership:
  • 788M Black Wheel
  • AW (Default), BS, LBB, HS, SO
  • Sunroof
  • Apple CarPlay
  • Wireless Charging
  • M Sports Brake

Things I know that is non standard and will need some negotiation to get it are. At least for what I'm aware of...
  • Manual Transmission
  • Wireless Hotspot (Not even sure NZ supports it)
  • Heated steering wheel. (Not really needed in NZ)
  • Removing options that are standard. Ie: Manual seats for weight saving (electric seats are standard)

Anything else you can safely assume that it's optioned in.

That being said, as of 1st of June. There are a total of 15 M2C registered in NZ. That includes the one not sold and registered as demos. Of that 15, 3 are manuals.
There are a total of 120 (M2 & M2C) in the whole of NZ.

It'll probably grown have a little bit now that we're in august, but not by much. I haven't run a NZ car registration query as of recent.
