Have had my M2C for three months. Have barely driven as very busy with work.
Took it for a drive yesterday, nothing exciting. Cruising along at 110km/h. Car coughs and farts. Christmas tree lights come up. Instantly feels like fuel issue. Car goes into limp (ok good because I don't think I have phone reception here) allows me to cruise for another 5 seconds then no power. Pull over. Car will turn over. Has the odd fire, but won't run. Really feels like fuel pump. Car has half a tank. Premium 98 octane. Luckily got phone reception. 250km from nearest dealer. 6 hours waiting for tow trucks. First one that arrived was going to cause front end damage (conscious of oil cooler location!) so sent away for a more suitable one. No news yet but will update. Silver lining is that I was going to take to dealer next week for run in service. 500km round trip, and more so an entire day I don't have spare. This hopefully means I won't have to do that - though am expecting to be challenged re it being delivered back to me. No other symptoms prior to incident. |

Sucks man. Most of us get relatively problem free cars so I always feel for the people that get the short straw. I hope it's just something minor.

Wow... That's some bad luck.
I remember hearing your review and drifting around at your local track and was excited to see another fellow kiwi owning an M2C. Last time I check (June) there's only 15 registered BMW M2 Competition in whole of NZ. Personally, I have yet to see another M2C in wild (Auckland) apart from my own car. Keep us posted on how it goes. |

Sorry sorry for the issues you are having. I am sure you will be back on the road in no time. These cars are relatively problem free. I been on the M4/M3 forums and many people reported zero problems at 70k miles and still going strong.
Please report back what the issue was!

Who on earth could want to know how much mileage you can go with a certain amount of fuel? 🤨 🙂

I wonder how prevalent the spun crank hub issue is with the M2C. Also, I'd be interested to see how many oii coolers have been damaged given the incidence levels with M3/M4s. |

I don't remember hearing/reading about many problems as far as the N55's mechanicals go, but as an early adopter I can definitely remember complaints such as:
- Fried amps - Pebbles in the brake dust shields - Rear differential soda can crunch - ASD bypasses causing buzzing and more recently - LCI gauge cluster lighting recall - LCI taillight indicator issue |

No they aren't. One was rocks in the dust shields and one was a differential issue that required replacement of the diff under warranty. I've been in a car with each issue and they sound completely different in person but were often mistaken for one another when describing symptoms on the forum.

Lol, i've had this pointed out to me before and like all things metric my stance is "Yes. That makes infinitely more sense and seems like a way easier to use system, but it still confuses me because its unfamiliar"

There was a diff recall issue on m2, m3, m4 early on but it didn't sound like soda cans being run over. |

Distance is variable hence should be the primary output of measurement. In summary an amount of fuel for a given distance is less logical because your distance for a trip can be anything. Hence in your example for a 7km trip the reading is meaningless without some form of conversion up to 100km. Each to their own though. It’s what you are used to I suppose |

Another one down. You'd think BMW would step up their game.
Best of luck.
