My M2 driver's side seat is really getting worn which is a bit surprising as it's a 2018 with 20k miles on it. Perhaps normal from getting in and out every day. Any thoughts on how this can be fixed absent replacing the leather all together or at least cosmetically hiding it without staining clothes?

Easiest would be to re-dye it. Make sure not to get dye on the stitching. Use a small paint brush in that area to get close. There are some kits available on amazon I've used before on white/parchment seats. Can be hard to get the color to match perfectly. Might be easier since M2 seats are black.
Otherwise, if that repair isn't satisfactory, gotta buy new seat covers. Sorry that's happened. The seats in my 2007 Saab are in so much better condition with 130,000 miles. Worried about my M2 now. |

ecitizen - mine look almost like yours ('18 with 17k miles). I know I rub against the seat there in and out and so I try to contort my body so I don't. I feel like moving the seat back and forth would be hard on the seat motor...but seeing the wear on the seat I am wondering if I don't want to change to adjusting the position of the seat. Maybe I should move the steering wheel up instead of rubbing/moving the seat...?

Ask your dealer who does their leather repairs then have them fix it. You should be able to get it repaired for $120 or so and it’ll look like new.
My side bolsters are a little shiny (‘18 with 16K miles) but nothing major. However, I did get a small tear in the thigh bolster and had the dealer outsource the repair and they did an amazing job. Even upon close inspection you can’t tell where the tear was. |

I'd make sure your jean rivets aren't rubbing. That could be causing that pretty quickly. I definitely made sure to drop into the seat and pull my self up and out so as not to rub.
