You have me concerned though, cause I have a set of 265/285 winter tires that run wider and taller than 265/285 summer tires. I hope they fit. |

Hang on... so you guys are saying I can't run 265/35/19 and 285/35/19 RE71's on the stock rims, even with spacers and camber?
I am reading 255/275 or even 255/285 is the go... however I'm sure I've read all over this forum the 265/285 combo fits just fine, even in RE71's... ? |

Also, your call if you want to go 255 or 265 on a 9” rim. 265 is a little too wide, so turn in feel is worse than 255. But, the 265 will have more ultimate grip. |

Thanks! It's hard to fathom the car will be nine years old already in October! No plans to part with it anytime soon. Here's a better angle for slicktop viewing:

I want to run 265s up front and 285s im back because I want the extra grip and because I'm a terrible parker in an urban area and I am sick and tired of clipping my passenger side rims on curbs and need the extra protection plus I hate the stretched look. |

Im an OK autocrosser/trackdriver but not at the point of consistency where I would notice dull turn in more then how my own inputs influence the car. Its been awhile since I’ve seen a non-comp M3-4 to see how the 255 tires fit on the wheel, hopefully it takes away most of the stretch. |

245 looks stretched, 255 looks like it fits, 265 bulges slightly but really just looks more square. |

Hmm, in another thread someone pointed out that the front wheel liners are different between the M2 and M2C and might be causing their issue. I wonder if that could be the issue with OP here too. Might be that M2C just can't fit 265/35 like the M2 can.

Restarting the 265/35 front fitment question...
I noticed that on the BMW CCA raffle car (M2C with loads of Dinan parts) in the closeup picture of the front wheel, they are using a PS4S in 265/35-19 up front. It's on different wheels although the real issue we're supposed to have isn't width related of course...it's diameter related. I wonder if Dinan has somehow clearanced the fender liner or they just let the thing rub.

Ok, so I guess I'm ready to finally place my order for autox tires (RE-71R) and will just go with 255/35-19 up front.

If I have an idea where the rubbing is, perhaps I can modify the fender liner in that zone...or if it's the strut I'll have to be mindful when choosing coilovers.
