Tell them you have Bluetooth issues. Common problem on earlier versions. May update for free as part of warranty.

W-tyres- use one of the attached photos and say to yr dealer that yr idrive randomly shuts down and comes up displaying no signal in orange font.

You've had to reset idrive to restore functionality....

Cheers BP!

The time I paid was ages ago - the most recent update was done at the end of warranty check - I don't think they did it out of the goodness of their hearts though, but because they were investigating a random wiper issue.

I believe same oil. In my area BMW recommends a 0w-30. I think you could go heavier if you wanted.

So in each area , each dealer uses their own oil?

When driving afterwards the steering felt slightly improved in terms of feel but largely the same - I was a little surprised at this, as I thought a software update would clear all settings.

I then had the laptop plugged into the car today and noticed that the car was actually on "F087" coding for steering! BMW seem to have been unexpectedly generous and updated all the M2's with great steering.

I then went on to do a couple of back to back test drives with the F087 and F087CS coding options. They are very close, but I actually prefer the F087 option - in Sport+ the steering is slightly lighter and as a result has more feel.

:-)

If steering feel is your thing though, try the F087 option and turn off the DSC - wow, that is great steering - weighty, but dripping with feel.
Curious what software update did these changes happen on. Wondering if I already have this update or do I need to get my software updated. This is my current software version...

You need approximately ISTEP F020-19-03-530 or later. So from March 2019. Yours looks older.

Ok thanks. Looks like I'll be scheduling a service appointment to have those buggy apps fixed lol!

Going in for 3 year service soon. Is it actually included in the last maintenance service and/or is it worth asking for them to update (citing phone connectivity) or "dont fix what isn't broken"...

I-Step updates don't happen unless there is a recall and / or problem. As I said, it might also be unnecessary. If the modules' software hasn't changed between yours and the latest, you won't get any benefit.

You could also do the update yourself... not that difficult once you've downloaded the files.

Wanted to pitch in and share my experience with this mod; got the iStep update and had the car coded to F87 CS and I do feel an improvement! Steering is more accurate and the intervention is less twitchy. Overall its a minor improvement over OG LCI M2 and a major improvement over the OG pre-LCI M2.

I fall into the pre LCI camp. Given current pandemic Thor Flasher is a way of doing it. But then I can't even enjoy the car on the back roads so seems pointless.

Thor flasher is great. Just make sure to use an enet cable with a phone adapter instead of their wireless dongle. Much much faster and little to no risk of a dropped connection. Same thing with bimmercode.

Andrew I found the same adapter however it looks like it's the previous version (iOS 11). You foresee any issues? The one u recommended does not show up on Canadian amazon.

Also, any reco on enet cable....seem to be a dime a dozen.

Thanks!

I would do the current version just to be safe. Should be on eBay if not amazon. Worst case scenario I can buy it and mail it to you and you can Venmo or PayPal me when you get it.

This is the enet cable I have:
