M2C Oil Temp Gauge?

Might have been covered but did they finally add an oil gauge to the M2c gauge cluster? All the pics I see online aren't in that particular mode in the cluster so I can't tell.

Yes, one of the obd functions to scroll through.

It's unfortunate that it is not a permanent gauge. I like to have digital speed displayed, and that circumvents seeing oil temps during warm-up. It also circumvents seeing the odometer.

These ancillary data would be nice to have on the large LCD display. A water and oil temp gauge would be much nicer than the silly power meter thing.

Also, I would (MUCH) prefer the speed limit display to be in the speedo. Too much eye movement unless you use the digital speed display.

I can't see any of the OBD functions as they are hidden behind the steering wheel. I do have he seat positioned as low as possible though. It would be nice if oil temp was visible directly under the tach.

It would be much nicer. Just flash in the sport mode settings when you toggle them then replace with your default preference.

I don’t have any probs seeing the full display. Spent ages getting it just right. It’s a great driving position. I’m nearly 6’3” and I don’t have the seat at its lowest. I still use the old school leg bracing position that I was taught in my first advanced driving course last century.

Agree on all counts there. They could also make better use of the small space with the utterly useless Efficient Dynamics "gauge" (tho it does have pretty colors! ).

Indeed - and there are a lot of them, all enabled by default. I whittled them down to three but I still toggle the damn thing every time I drive the car - want to see the temp until sufficiently warmed up, then I prefer to see the odometer. Not that I spend a ton of time staring at either, but it's slightly annoying - esp with all that unused (& wasted) display space around.

Having redundant navigation info covering up the digital speed display - which I switched to km - while driving in Europe was also annoying. Minor gripes - I'd take a bigger fuel tank over anything else.

No M2C here. Just plain Jane 2016 M2. Here is how I get Oil Temp on my M2 vs my GT4. I only really care about it on the track because realistically you don't need to be monitoring it on the street.

M2: Connect OBD bluetooth to phone and record on an app. Then look at it after the fact.

GT4: Real gauge on the dash. Real time.

I really wish given the proximity of these two companies they would compare notes occasionally. The dash layout on the Porsche is far superior to the M2. On the flip side the brake pad swaps on the M2 (knock out a couple pins) are far superior to the GT4 (full caliper removal).

First pic is obviously my GT4 instrument cluster. Second is my RaceChrono screen shot showing my M2 run at Road America.

The information is actually available on any model above (regardless of being a sport version or not).
When I had my M135i I asked why it was missing and the official answer was that they did not have enough space...

Now at least you can have without adding anything. However you may still have it like on the other 2 serie: if you select the MPorformance steering wheel, in addition to those cheap leds, you have a small display which can show oil temperature too (amongst other things)...

Can someone post a screenshot of the display showing oil temp? Too bad it's not like the F80/F82 with a dedicated analog gauge but a digital display is better than nothing.

I just found that option on my '19 last Thursday. Having the mode display is much more useful...worrying about fuel consumption was not why I bought this car.

US spec cars have the same indicator in F°. This is not new, was added when they rolled out the LCI models.

How do you turn that off? An fuel efficiency monitor is totally out of place on these cars. What goes up in it's place?

Cool thanks I have an old 17 now so just have that stupid red to blue and OK for coolant temp, bugs the heck out of me and I'm too lazy to get an aftermarket gauge.

A display of your steering and throttle modes. Ignore the reflection of my paws and phone in the second pic.

Maybe this is a 2019 thing only? I have the option to turn off the Efficiency Dynamics but it just leaves the area blank and I have no M dynamic systems option.
