To be honest I can't wait anymore.

I really hope they outdid themselves.
It looks like they outdid themselves with the tape that's for damn sure.
It's called flexible aerodynamic

Fun to the side I think it will be nice looking and performing car.

I just got last year 19' M240 and I like it, most likely will trade for G80 M3 as DD and get the M2 racing for track only.

Will keep 19' X5 for family.

What about "the camouflage tape couldn't handle the G-force during tests" or "rodents love to chew camouflage tape" ? LOL.

Indeed, so this is the car Miko M should be looking for? And not the CS.

Will the CS get the known M performance front splitter or a different one like for the back as well?

The exciting thing about this car, the size is similar to an E46 M3.
The secret recipe on the 1M, it is sized similar to an E30.

IMO, anytime you get a modern M sized like M’s in the past, with all the requirements in modern vehicles, it is going to be agile and fun, because it is sized accordingly.

Too early for price info on the M2 Racing as we speak. First deliveries scheduled for 2020 Q2 (see here and here). First official outing today at the Nürburgring Nordschleife (but still featuring camo). This track-only racecar is rumored to get the S55 engine with ± 470hp power output (unconfirmed). Recently it was spotted doing test laps in Portugal (see here).

Back in 2013 the M235i Racing was quoted EUR59.9K (see here and here). More recently there was the M240 Racing (340hp & 460Nm - see here, here and here) (DMSB Regulations BMW M240i Racing Cup here).

Appreciate all this info!!

I planning to have something for track and this could really fit perfectly for what I am looking for.

I guess G80 M3 will be mine DD now.

Sorry for dumb question but, do you need to participate in those racing or can you just buy to take it to a track for your self. If so where do you buy it from?

Black test mule must be one of the original test cars as it looks to be sporting the OG gauge cluster. Didn't LCi move to digital cluster?

They camouflaged the lower front bumper, so the assumption is they designed a new front splitter for the bumper.

The back lid has a M4 CS-like 'duck tail' spoiler. New to the 2 series body style..

Interesting that the photos Jason posted are of a left hand drive car with labels on controls in English. Looks like a North America test build.

If you guys are bored and want to do some extrapolation to figure out exactly what is new on the CS, as oppose to the Competition, look at BMWs previous late test mules; they only covered the areas that where never before revealed publicly.

So pretty much every area that's camouflaged is of some new changes.. One would assume..

Interestingly it's on 18" 513M wheels...

I'm liking that hood, hopefully that makes it to the CS.

Carbon fiber hood featuring a power dome and air vent featured on the M3/M4 CS and M4 GTS:

Now also on the M2 Racing. So it exists for the F87:

Let's wait and see whether the CF hood of the M2 CS will also feature the air vent.

The M2 M Performance Parts carbon fiber hood does not feature the air vent:

I seriously want that hood.

I don't really care if it has the vent, even though it's got some functionality.

I think a 40 lb reduction over the M2C is realistic, mostly coming from the wheels.
Wheels, CF hood, and CF roof should save about ~45lbs combined. When optioned with CCB, another ~53lbs reduction can be achieved over the big brakes of M2C (2NH). If BMW also puts a lithium battery in it just like they do with M3/M4, it can save another ~30lbs (but highly doubt BMW will add the lithium battery). Those M3/M4 ZCP/GTS seats with holes should weigh less than M2C seats as well (maybe ~10lbs combined for both front seats?). If you order it with titanium MPE, it'd save another 18lbs. Considering a 6MT M2C with full tank of gas weighs 3560lbs, an M2CS 6MT can realistically come at around ~3400lbs with 150-160lbs weight savings but don't ask about the price tag of this build

So going by those numbers, let's knock off the fancy brakes, the lithium battery and the MPE exhaust. That 160-(53+30+18)=59 lbs. lighter than the M2C. They could reduce weight in other areas but I don't see any obvious places to do that. When I want my car to weigh less I just stop eating ice cream after dinner .

Yea I was just listing what is possible As someone who tracks his car quite often, I would personally never choose CCB no matter how light they are. I still think the blue brakes are pretty good for what they are and they weigh 35lbs less than the silver M2C brakes. Regardless, your calculation (-60lbs) is probably what's gonna end up happening I would still add a lithium battery to it tho if BMW doesn't do it from factory. For about $700, you can save another ~48lbs with Antigravity RS-30 battery for instance (combined with CF hood, it shouldn't affect the weight distribution by that much).
