I think that the M2C will be faster than an M4
I’m sure the S55 can be easily modded to produce the same output as in the M4.
And it’s well known that the output of the S55 is under-stated in the M3/4. So with the same power and less weight, the M2C will be faster than the M4!! |

Are you? I’ve paid my deposit and getting an M2C in August/Sept.
You’re posting in the M2C part of the forum. If you can’t take the heat... stay in the M2 section. |

If it was tuned to have stock m4 power then it would probably be faster than m4 with same tires. Doesn't sound like the M2C is much lighter than the M4 though.

I do not see it in stock form as the M2C is heavier than the M4 and down 20 horsepower to my early 15 M4.That being said I did order a M2C for myself and I will track it a lot.

I've read that with the stock M2 wheels the tires can be bumped up to 255/275 without issue. The setup looks much better since the stock tires looked stretched on the stock wheels. Bigger tires along with a slight tune and the M2C will likely give the M4 a run for the money...until the new M4 is released.

I‘ve discussed the S55‘s tuning potential with scandinavia‘s #1 tuner. He said 410->500 will be easy by just ecu tuning and not be a danger for the motor at all. New intake system, downpipe plus different ecu tuning, up to 580hp.

Any mention of additional restrictions from the particle filter? Im concerned that'll have an impact on the tuning of this platform in Europe.

I think the M2C could definitely be more fun than an M4, given the shorter wheelbase, smaller overall size, and associated dynamics that come with those differences.
Not sure if it will be faster though - will be fun to watch the inevitable comparisons.

How will that work for you guys in the EU? Can you just take it off and use a different exhaust?

Will be an issue come MOT time which has to be done on the cars 3rd anniversary in the uk. I’m sure there are some friendly MOT test stations as Lots of people run decats which won’t pass the emissions

Ah, right, thanks for correcting me. I had assumed M2C would be lighter than the M4 since it's smaller.

The Euro M2C is heavier. It is splitting hairs and probably a pointless debate, but the 5lbs or more could be made up by US not getting the big particulate filter.

M2C lacks the M4 weight saving measures like the aluminum front clip, carbon fibre in the roof and driveshaft plus other measures to reduce the mass. But that is not unexpected in a car that is a lot cheaper.
