That's a lot of $$ for such a small difference. I could swap my 788 wheels on the M2C for 763's and lose 30lbs personally. Done

Regarding the difference in lap times between the CS and Competition I would suggest that we look at what the article actually says about this (and this is a track they do a lot of testing on).
In essence they say that the 2.1s difference seems significant even at first glance. But then you have to consider that the reference time (Competition) was set in colder temperatures, or in effect better conditions. From this it's clear that the magazine's view is that the gap in lap time is significant. Their feeling is however that most of the time saved is down to more power and better grip (tyres). |

That wasn't even for the US. That was the price thrown around for Belgium.

I've been waiting for more details about the CS and man, this is disappointing.
I know the conditions were different and that Cup 2s need to be warmed up, but to only be less than two seconds quicker with Cup 2's vs. Super Sports? Come on now.

Celebrate an overpriced car? Cmon, that's marketing dept talk. Look for the money over stock M2 Comp, the insane amount over stock M2 Comp, simply cannot justify a warm fuzzy feeling for this car.

It's 2.1 sec faster and the article states that even without considering the better conditions that the Competition model was tested under thats a significant difference! 2 seconds on a short track is a lot! Do 5 laps and the CS is over 10 seconds ahead. Visualize having to wait 10 seconds for the Competition to pass after the CS crosses the line... It's a loooong wait! |

Upgrade the M2C to 763M wheels and stickier tires, throw in a M4CS tune and maybe the CF hood for fun. Done. If you are headed to the track throw in some coilovers.

I'd imagine if you put a tune on the Comp + the same tires they'd be extremely close. A good tune would be less than a $1k mod.
You're basically paying for the warranty. Not gonna lie though, adaptive suspension sounds nice for street/track duty - that's probably not (easily) retrofittable. |

Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires in the M2CS. PSS on the M2. Likely responsible for most of the difference.
Kind of an unfair comparison with different tires.

I just took a look at track times, and a 1:55 is up there with some pretty quick rides. Definitely not a great track for differentiating the competition. I thought the BMW guys said it hit a 7:42 on the ring same as 981 GT4. Wasn't the M2C 10-12s slower.
The M2C is a fantastic platform. Look at the limited amount of mods to get it to a 7:12. You can make a C as quick as a CS for sure, and much quicker. But stock for stock the CS is superior, and it should be. |

Hardly any difference for the price you pay for M2 CS. It looks like M2C has hit the sweet spot.
