What I take away from this thread: the M2 is down 100 whp but handles so well it matches the M4 times on tight tracks.

Absolutely ! But I'll never believe that there is a 100 whp gap between them.

This is a none sense.
There are many intricacies that need to be understood about dyno testing.

If the majority of dynos out there show the M3/4 to have a given relative advantage over the M2, it most likely indicates what the potential of the respective engine really are.

Only fanboys see the real numbers put in front of them and still don't believe the facts.

The M4 I drove felt 100WHP faster vs my M2, but it also felt 1000lbs heavier

Cheers

Yes, the M2 is 50 pounds lighter than the M4. You should know nerdy facts like that since you put top gear quotes about the M2 ring time in your signature.

You have not been following BMW's very long then.

Their cars have been underrated for quite a while.

Note that the M4 wasn't a base M4 it was a Comp Pack (ZCP). So a rated 444 HP not 425, and there are many dyno's showing over 444WHP from them.

On almost any given track the M2 is just faster, more agile, more compact, more balanced. And though it weighs about 100lbs less, it feels and is smaller, way smaller. Just the better driver's car.

But anyway this was about a dragrace. 444whp, no shit Sherlock. Dragraces and M2's....?
They're meant for sweepy roads and tracks

Cheers
Robin
