BMW emblem gone from truck lid

I know the obvious guess is that someone stole it, but I don't see any marks on the paint from prying it off. How likely is it that it just popped off while driving and BMW will cover under warranty?

Very odd, I am sure the dealer will make it right. If not they aren't terribly expensive. My guess is someone stole it. They don't come off without some work.

I would of expected the M badge to get stolen, not the BMW badge lol probably just popped off due to poor installation in the factory.

Go to the dealer and they should give you another one for free.

I guess someone was smart enough to use a trim removal tool to remove the badge without scratching your paint imho.

Could be. You'll also notice from the pic above that the grommets are missing as well. So if it was stolen, they also used some needle nose pliers to remove the grommets.

Or maybe the factory used the wrong grommets and the whole thing fell out during some spirited driving

You know, this was also happening to some of the early 235 adopters - but it was falling off the wheels. I know because I lost two of the badges, same wheel. They were replaced for free, but some glue was utilized after #2 fell off.

Could be just an early adopter thing? I wonder if we will see a few of these...

I would guess that it simply fell off. Early production issue. There's really no way someone can remove it from the outside without marring the paint at least a little bit.

dont think that someone stole it, we had one at the dealer here where it popped off. I also thought someone stole it but it merely just fell off from poor factory installation. Turns out the factory didnt put in the anchor for the two "screws".
