New downpipe and turbo inlet.

Hello,

I am new to the BMW M world. I bought a stock 2018 M2 about 7-8 months ago and I am doing my first MOD/upgrade this weekend. I recently purchased a Fabspeed Sports CAT downpipe and Pure Turbo inlet pipe. I did my homework and purchased all the clamps and bolts for the DP install, below is the list.
Clamp (DP to mid-pipe) - 18307620349 ($32.00)
Clamp (turbo to DP) - 18307606136 ($34.00)
Gasket (turbo to DP) - 18307581970 ($22.00)
Bolt - 07119904992 ($0.61)
Nut - 18307525607 ($1.40)
Stiffening Plate (Need 8 Bolts) - 33326768354 ($3.31/each)

Cold start Video of the day I purchased.

Welcome! Looks good, interested in hearing how it sounds after the mods. Will the Sport Cat pass the TÜV?

Good stuff!

I also didn't know the new pure inlet had the retaining bracket, which is a nice addition.

MST has the bracket too doesn't it? You can see it in the images.

I personally like the pure one better because it is all metal.

Does the fastening hardware actually have to be replaced or are you just a very anal person? I'm 99% sure the shop that did my install just reused all my clamps and gaskets etc. and I've had no issues.

It only needs to be replaced if it's really corroded, I personally just do it anyways because why not since it is going to be out anyways.

You can do the install with out replacing any of the item but, I have read that one of the clamps can get damaged during the install. Also the stiffening plate bolts should be replaced, they are single use item.

Yes, I saw that also but, I emailed them and they confirmed that the new version does have the retention bracket.

should not hurt anything but if you do have to remove the stiffening plate in the future I would get them replaced.

Yes those clamps have "teeth" that are really delicate, but if you are careful enough you can still save them.

All the hardware isn't expensive (I think I paid $100 for it all) and I mainly did it because, if I got a CEL, I knew fabspeed wouldn't approve a warranty claim unless you change all the hardware to rule it out.

Good to know, but If I ever get a CEL with the FS sportcat I'd just replace it with one from Remus so I can finally stop having to explaining my Frankenstein exhaust set up to everyone and their mother, lol
