But then it will be the first year of the GS, what then? You may as well buy a 2019 manual GS. It's been built for 3+ years and tried and true.

Here they come

C8 is starting to ship from factory. So when people start to see C8’s curious to how many may make, the change from M2 or Bmw anything.
Seems like quite a machine for the money.

GS is usually just a widebody and some parts from the Z06 with the standard engine. It was more reliable on the C7 than the initial cars. Me? I wouldn't wait. I'd just get it and enjoy it now.

Yes like going out to buy a black suit and coming home with a yellow jacket and red Bermuda shorts. You'll certainly get attention and probably be able to run faster in the shorts.

If you didn't need useable back seats, there are quite a few options out there starting with the C8.

I think it is quite a machine for the money. Since they've gone midengine, I wouldn be surprised if the Vette demographics don't shift to a younger crowd. GM may have a home run... we'll see.

Agree. I mean I NEVER had the urge to read about or build a Corvette on the Chevrolet website, but I've already done that...twice. The styling is too extroverted for me and the lack of a MT is also basically a deal-breaker. But, damn, that much performance for that much money is insane.

And, the Z06 will have a new flat-plane-cranck twin turbo V-8....

I'm trying to decide as well between the C8 and M2C.
The main reason I would buy the M2C is for manual tranny, and slightly lower cost. I really don't like the cheap interior of this car...especially when the're asking 80K+.

The C8 has a fresh and attractive exterior design which will certainly turn heads. And that interior is absolutely amazing. The only drawback is the DCT and slightly higher cost if you don't get the Z51 pkg. Also, leasing details are not available yet.

If Chevrolet does the same thing again, your base C8 will perform around C7 Z06 levels.
6mt m2c is faster from light to light than a base c7 with auto, consistently. M2c slightly better than base c7 imo.

Not even close bro, in terms of performance anyway. Comfort is subjective though so why not.

Straight line I spanked the particular c7 I was racing. Pretty sure it was grand sport.

3 lights of racing.

One bad shift on my part led to 2 of 3 wins for Bavaria.

Just my experience. Maybe he had bad spark plugs and some bad rubber.

I'm pretty unfamiliar with the c7 platform but, I'm sure a 2 seat v8 with substantially more rubber and an auto is lots quicker around most every track.

The looks, over saturation, and lack of practicality never gave the c7 a chance for the performance daily in my book..

The c8 however.. that's a different story altogether.

I think you also have to give yourself props for your shifting and pedal dancing skill. The stock C7 does 0-60 in 4.1, a bit faster than M2C. So I think it comes down to the vette driver not knowing how to use launch control, or overpowering the rear tires early and getting shut down by TCS.

The other factor might be that in normal settings the Auto will start from 2nd gear. It needs to be in the right mode to launch hard, so I think more user error to blame.

A stock 6 speed M2C does 0-60 in 3.9. I would say generally it's a drivers race when you're on the street. Both cars will spin the wheels on a unprepped surface, so unless you're not on a race track, it would go either way.

He probably didn’t know how to drive his car. There’s always that. Just because you have a fast car doesn’t mean you know how to drive it fast.

Base C7 listed on Chevrolet.com says 0-60 in 3.7.
