As I wait for my M2C... tell me 2 great things and 2 bad things about your M2C

My M2C is scheduled for production... waiting patiently.

I’ve read or watched countless reviews, mostly from auto journalists.

I’d like to hear from the forum M2C owners.

Tell me your two favorite things about your M2C, and two things you’d like to see improved.

2 Pros:
- Best new ///M since the E46 M3
- So much fun

2 Cons:
- Exhaust sounds (Burbles, farts and way too quiet)
- No HUD

2 Pros:
- I love the "small" form factor (is this a term used with cars?)
- It's so much fun to drive (especially if you flash it)

2 Cons:
- It's missing some luxury features (cooled seats, HUD, etc)
- Although I've really gotten used to the auto rev match feature and love it now, I still think they should've allowed us a simple way of turning it off

Positive:
-So much usable power
-Exceptional balance paired with a communicative, planted chassis

Negative:
-Always filling up with fuel because of the small tank capacity (not commuting with this car, just for fun drives, so not the best mileage from my behavior)
-Stock exhaust is way too quiet, but the AA midpipe can fix this easily.

The M2C is one of the top 1 or 2 best M cars I've owned, which includes:

-e34 M5
-e36 M3
-e46 M3
-e90 M3
-e82 1M

Yes, you can say the newer cars have ASD and electronic complications that dilute the driving experience. I admittedly have turned off auto rev match and ASD. But, I've never driven an M car that feels so balanced and composed on B roads, and can put down such a great amount of power with ease.

Wow, you sure have owned a lot of M cars. That's awesome!

(This is my first BMW, let alone an M)

It's good to know that I bought one that is built so well though.

same here kinda... I've owned:

-e46 M3
-e90 M3
-f80 M3
-f87 M2C

and my cousin had the e36 M3 (thus the reason I got hooked on M's).

I can say that, eventhough I've only had this thing for a few weeks, so far it has brought me a smile like non of the others did, except the e46 M3.

If I had to rank them, in terms of driving dynamics and overall balance and feel (compared to at-the-time of ownership when they came out.... not "performance" etc), I would have to say:

e46 = f87 > e36 > e90 > f80

Pros:
1. Handling and balance are beyond what I ever thought I'd have access to on a daily basis. Perfect size for driving fun. Just magical.
2. Past 2000 RPM's, I couldn't ask for a better engine than the S55. Powerful and happy to rev all the way to red line (road conditions appropriate, of course)

Cons:
1. I have had some "daily driver" issues with the size of the car (expected, and it's fine)
2. I let my SO, traffic, and my salesman talk me into the DCT. Sigh.

As a 6MT addict, I can confidently say the DCT in this car is impressive and fun as hell. That said, the one time I bought a sports car without a 6MT, I WAS FVCK!NG MISERABLE.

2023 M2  [8.00]
Pros:
1. Handling reminds me of a 911. Very communicative. Very light and direct.
2. It looks aggressive as hell. Love the boxy fenders, huge brakes, aggressive lights.

Cons
1. Because of massive brakes, brake dust. Just awful. Getting wheels coated next month, should hopefully fix this.
2. I wish it had the same options as an M3/4. It would have been great to have a HUD again, carbon roof, and maybe the ZCP seats. I'm not a fan of the dakota leather but it does look pretty good in the M2C.

I mean, for an auto, it's probably the best in the biz, next to the newest PDK. That being said, i could never buy a DCT if the manual was an option. I drove a M3 DCT & 6SP back to back and it honestly felt like a completely different experience. The auto was great, for an auto, but i noticed stuff like the suspension being stiff and the sound not being amazing. Drove the 6SP and it was magical.

Pros and Cons M2C

Pros:
1. Go cart. It darts around like a rocket-powered go cart and it's "fun-sized" like my old E36.
2. It doesn't need mods out the box. It's good-to-go. (all right, I might paint the udder black)

Cons:
1. Can I afford to pay a refueling tanker to follow me around? (came from an i8, so I knew what I was getting back into, but I haven't been able to beat ~250 to a tank yet... and that was during baby break-in miles the first 1000 miles!)
2. Miss the HUD. A lot.

wait, what?

so the transmission you drove changed the laws of physics, and actually changed the characteristics and mechanical workflow of the suspension and the exhaust?
