Keyfob mod w/ key cut

Nate's BMW and ECU Repair (he has a website). $150 (+$10 for return shipping) & that INCLUDES the key cut.

I am not affiliated with the owner or the site/service. Someone on here mentioned him & that he cuts the keys, so you don't have to send out your fob if you use another vendor that doesn't.Not sure anyone has used him or posted about him, so figured I'd do both. Glad I did.

He did great work, kept in touch throughout & turned it around the day he got the key. Total of 5 days passed and I got my FOB. Everything works perfectly & the fob itself is top notch. Feels great in the hand.

I am gonna lose a pound to make up for the weight of the fob so I don't lose any time on my zero-2-sixties.

+1 I got mine done from Nate a couple of weeks ago. Good communication, quick, and best of all the key is cut so I can still lock the glove box and stuff.

I forget who's thread I saw that mentioned him - but certainly appreciate that he did.

He did a great job, right? And so damned fast! Like everybody who's done it says, you pick that fob up every time you get in the car - totally worth the price of admission. Soon as you pick it up, you grin... it's like the climb up the rollercoaster hill, waiting for the real fun to begin. heh heh

I mentioned him in the other thread a bit over a week ago. To be honest the first key I got done was a bit off so I sent it back but he was great about replacing it and the communication throughout.

Through his website, "get a quote", upper right. Just noticed - he is right by you in Lower Burrell, too.

C'mon man, I'm 55 and know how to use the interwebs.

An acquaintance of mine introduced him to me via Facebook and we communicated over FB messenger.

I asked because I've tried getting in touch with him several ways and it's been radio silence.

I wrote him on a Saturday, he replied Sunday, I sent out the fob Monday & had it in my hot little hand on Friday! Things might be quiet now because of covid (?). I def used that "get quote" feature in the upper right.

I am gonna do a couple of other CF bits for my car, and then I am gonna send him my second fob & do the silver keys.

I like the black a lot - I wasn't 100% sure but I did it first, and once I saw it, it looks & feels great. I don't think there was a difference in cost, either.

Looks great, I wonder if it is the same manufacturer that Gates uses. The better price, timing and biggest thing being the key cut make this much more appealing.

I do think the M2 key is pretty bulky/ugly and the new X3 M40 key looks way better (same as pictured above) but I kind of like having the keys be different since I leave all of them in the same place. I'm kind of wishing I could do a different finish like the Gates offering but at the same prices as this one.

Nate’s BMW and ECU Repair also has the key fob with silver buttons in stock.

This guy does silver & black. As far as I know, the only 2 finish options available (?) There was a another vendor saying the black was special for them. Nope - Nate's got it. At Gates, I only see the silver option for the F series. But they don't cut the key.

Yeah - the only difference between this black one & the one Nate offers is where Nate's is silver, FC's is black. And all they do it paint it black - you could do the same, or wrap it black or any other color for that matter. Not only that, FC wants $310 - and they don't cut the key. Epic fail. And not so "exclusive". LOL
