It's still nice to maximize range when you're doing long drives, I used to be really into hypermiling with my last car because it was so boring to drive that was the only way to make the trip interesting.

I would add a lot of time to my trips but it feels like a cool accomplishment to blow the epa rating out of the water.

Best was 553 klms on 49.5 ltrs - ~9 ltrs/100klms or 31.7 mpg (imperial). That was when I was running it in - 257 klms to 810 klms. I wasn't that gentle, but no traffic. All country roads, hills, corners. A couple hundred klms there of 80-110 klms/hr pulsing up and down with wide'ish throttle openings in 4, 5, 6 (6MT).

50/50 city/country driving is running at 10.8 ltrs/100klms over 2000 klms including the above. I have stuck to run in guide-lines - don't baby it, but same token its a bit restrictive around here in terms of letting it off the leash. Comparison with my FM Mustang GT Coupe 5.0 MT, same duty cycle at 2000 klms was 13.7 ltrs/100 klms or 20.5 mpg (imperial).

Bet I'll find soon that it likes a drink when I get up it more, but so far, I am surprised with fuel usage on my DD.

Cheers
