I believe it was the active sound that was tweaked.

If it helps my SA is saying the MY2020 cars will begin delivery May onwards and no changes are expected except minor hardware/software updates.

This is what I am trying to ask my CA to do, swapping my Jan allocation to March one then 45-50 days later the car will be arriving at the dealer. If they can't do that I'll cancel my order all together, not cool to take March (Jan build car) delivery when in 2-months your car is 1 yr old.

BMW revised the ASD hardware and software in 03/2015 and beyond built, where its not as discernible as the previous iterations. ASD now is more of a added resounding bass than actually 'fake' exhaust sound.

You used to be able to change the ASD parameters through coding, which allowed the interior of your a 4 cylinder to sound like a V12 Rolls Royce Ghost (Yes, RR has ASD also), if you desired but after this revision, this option is no longer available.

Is this 100% confirmed that there are no other changes? No additional options (carbon roof, dynamic suspension)?

Too early to say. We won’t know for sure until the ordering guides are out.

My thoughts as well. There has to be something different between 19 and 20 MY years beside a simple software/iDrive update

Agreed with this. Though I don't believe they will offer another color. That would seem like a pretty big new thing.

Yeah highly unlikely there will be a new color (sadly), but I could live with it if they would just offer damn carbon roofs installed from factory

My dealer has come back to me and said that they can see ahead into March 2019 at colour availability and that it doesn't show any addition colours (see below).

But, they also told me that NZ region MY change over is September, meaning that the info they're seeing for March 2019 won't be for a MY2020 car.

If I knew for certain that MGM was going to become available for MY2020 I would cancel my BSM MY2019 order. But I don't want to cancel based on no info, otherwise I'll never order a car if I was always worried about what could be in the next model.

I mean, imagine if for MY2020 they said no more manual. Unlikely, but certainly plausible.
Since when do M240i's get LBB available? I guess that's new?

I don't think so, most BMW MY changes don't get anything unless it's an LCI. Might get a small price increase though.

Note that there is a big difference between the '17 and the Comp. I think the LCI update went to the touchscreen and with that they upgraded the amplifier at least. Considerably more power to the amplifier in the new car.

Oh no. So that just means I can put down my deposit in Feb 2019, but not get actual delivery until.....what....December 2019?

My BMW fin guy told me that the dealership received pre-notice of a price increase across the board for '19. It's common for there to be a price increase, but he said this specifically called out tariffs, etc. and they expect it to be a larger jump than previously. It did not have a date, but his guess was January.

A larger jump than previously? So you're saying there is going to be another $6,000+ jump?

If they severely increase the price a lot more than it already is, they're going to get eaten by the 'competition.'

The whole appeal of the M2 platform was its entry level price tag for a bonafide M car, if it's out of reach to it's core demographics, what's the point of not looking elsewhere..

A M2C the way I want it is 63k plus 9% NY tax..
That works out to about a $1,200 month payment @60 months.. Anymore and you're in discounted M4C territory - or maybe even a leased M5..
