Anyone wrap their roof?
I have a mineral grey 2018 M2 and getting some more PPF done but wondering if I should do a wrap on the roof instead of PPF for looks? Anyone wrap the roof and can post pics?

Yes. I had a new STEK film applied to my 2020 M2C (with moonroof). It is a brand new film (just became available this Summer) that has a wet carbon fiber look. It looks extremely similar to the CF weave that the OEM M-Parts use.

Gloss black roof wrap on mine, not a bad job but not really a fan.
Had the roof of my A45 & my RS200 both painted gloss black with great results. Thought I'd try a wrap this time around but it's not the quality of finish I wanted so I'll remove it & have the roof painted in BSM. If your unsure you want to keep it black I definitely do see the value of a wrap.

Did mine myself to see if I liked it before shelling out the money to have stek film put on. $60 but temporary. I like it for what it is

What you see here is PPF film, not vinyl. I couldn't believe it until I saw both vinyl and PPF next to each other to witness the vinyl having a brown hue compared to the deep black color on the PPF. It also reflects like glass compared to the jagged look vinyl has up close. This particular brand of film even came ceramic coated out the roll. The antenna is painted black as well so you can compare the finish to that. This film is also self-healing, which I don't see a need for the roof but it's nice to have.

Brand they used is LLumar.
If you're in southern Cali I'd recommend getting it installed at Level Car Connection in Studio City. Great guys and knowledgeable in the job, price was reasonable as well. |

Here are three photos. The lighting is not the greatest (reflections of overhead door). Check back, I will get the car out and take some additional shots soon.
I also put some info from the STEK website in this reply.

It is hard to get a good picture of this stuff, but in person, it is stunning. Here is one more try.

The cost was around $600. It was installed at a small local shop (Platinum Autowraps) here in Minneapolis. They were highly recommended by the application engineers at 3M who work with the 3M 2080 vehicle wrapping film as a shop known for wrapping high end vehicles, not just applying commercial graphics..
