Isn't the supra just the same car with a bodykit?

For track duty, sure, I'd rather have a 1LE Camaro or a GT performance pack mustang.

For dual duty, or driving on the street, I'm taking the BMW every. single. time.

My track car is my S2000. My Daily is my M2C. A lot of people will probably find that strange, but the S2000 is more enjoyable on the track than on the street. I will be taking the M2C to the track once in a while but i foresee that the S2000 will still be my go to track car.

There's nothing strange about it. The S2000 is an absolute weapon.

It really is. I love this car and its always been one of my dream low end cost cars. And now that i'm in a place in life to turn it into a track/weekend car, and afford my mid-range dream car, it just feels great.

Hey, I’m curious what makes you say that. Is it near track readiness of BMW cars with little mods needed? Is it daily usefulness? Curious what your thoughts are.

I came from a damn good double duty Mustang, but I did have to go deep down the rabbit whole of modding to get it to that point. Mainly suspension stuff.

I totally get it. I’ve driven a few, and a few of us from work would do track days together. One of the quicker guys drove an S2000. It took a lot of work to beat his lap times. Sweet cars. Makes me think “Simplify and add lightness”

Jeez with the personal attacks and braggadocio. Yeah I think the Mustang forum suits "Monster" better.

Go figure, the one thing everyone on a bmw forum can agree on is that the s2000 is awesome.

Ha, because the user I was "attacking" was totally kosher. Look a page back. But I can understand how bringing performance facts which don't favor BMW can hurt on this forum, so I totally get it.

Oh no, that's a bad day at the track! I truly hope no one has to suffer this fate.

The day-to-day livability of the GT or the Camaro is just not good where I live. If was still in Phoenix? Sure, maybe. But even then with the Camaro you have the limited visibility...I'd just rather be in a BMW driving around town. Might just be getting old...

We all kinda go in knowing that it's a near statistical inevitability. Just hope it's not our turn.

Not to mention I see 30+ Camaro's and Mustangs every day on my commute to work and back. In my entire existence, I have seen 3-4 M2's... Part of having a cool car, is also having something that you don't see EVERY SINGLE DAY.

From having driven a 5th Gen ZL1, it's cool, sure. But the ole Django meme holds true.

Yeah, this was the attitude within my motorcycle sport bike club which is even worse without a cage to protect you.

I can see that. Visibility and interior space are certainly optimized out as Moflow mentioned earlier. Understandable.

Yup, a risk we accept. I do struggle with this myself. Back home tracks were pretty safe with tons of runoff room. Last year I did Spa and Hockenheim, and they are both pretty safe. This year my track day plans are singularly focused on the Nordschleife. I need to drop 40s to get a sub 8 min lap, with 7:55 being the ultimate goal. And there is close to no runoff room. Armco or concrete everywhere. Constant battle of how hard to push vs how hard it is still safe to push.

This so much. Where i live, if i dont see at least 10 mustangs every time i drive anywhere, then something is wrong. Not as many Camaros but plenty of Challengers and the like. I've seen 1 M2 Competition out on the street and the rest when i go autocross. Definetly a rare sight and even more rare than my S2000 which i catch a glimpse of one about once a week.

Kinda the same as when i had my BRZ. I loved that car but man...everyone has one and it really starts to lose its luster when you just start to see them everywhere.
