To prepare for the remainder of Q3 and Q4, we are offering an in-depth look at the first-ever 2020 BMW M2 CS, recently launched 2021 M5 LCI and upcoming M Track Days and M exclusive closed room viewing opportunities for the all-new M3/M4 in lieu of the originally scheduled M Town Tour.

2020 M2 CS
The 2020 M2 CS represents the evolution of the M2, blending racetrack optimization with everyday usability to create the most capable version of M's smallest model. Featuring a lower weight, more power, and sharper dynamics, this limited production model is the most capable M2 ever and production for the U.S. will run from September through December 2020. Every BMW dealer is guaranteed at least one of these limited models with deliveries set to begin in November and December. Production numbers will be assigned to each store in advance so vehicles can be modified for customers with limited options including wheels, transmission and paint. "The M2 Competition set the standard in the premium compact sports car segment and the first-ever M2 CS represents the ultimate next chapter while continuing the successful history of special CS models," said John Kelly, BMW M product manager, BMW NA. "It sharpens the dynamic character of the M2 into an even more appealing vehicle for high-performance enthusiasts by making a bold statement, both visually and functionally."
Equally comfortable on the track and street, the M2 CS was developed in conjunction with the new M2 CS Racing model. Fifty-five pounds lighter than the M2 Competition and featuring a, high-performance M TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder engine, the M2 CS delivers 444 hp at 6,250 rpm (39 more hp than the M2 Competition) to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds when equipped with the optional 7-speed M Double Clutch (M DCT with Drivelogic) Transmission and 4.0 seconds via the standard 6-speed manual.

The distinctive carbon fiber components prioritize function and optimize aerodynamics; this includes the first-ever available carbon fiber roof for M2 from the factory, as well as a new carbon fiber hood with air intake in high gloss black, front splitter and spoiler, among others - resulting in an improved driving experience on and off the racetrack.

Misano Blue Metallic exterior (exclusive to the CS model within the M2 line) along with Black Sapphire Metallic, Hockenheim Silver Metallic and Alpine White options
Exclusive interior featuring M Alcantara Steering Wheel with 12 o'clock mark
M Lightweight Sport Seats with Alcantara and Merino leather, Fire Red contrast stitching and M2 CS insignia; exclusive CS badging and a 50 percent lighter carbon fiber center console
"The M2 CS is a fully-fledged four-seater with exceptional racetrack performance and will appeal to anyone who really enjoys driving," added Philips. "This vehicle will help draw enthusiasts into dealerships and increase overall brand awareness. The halo effect of this limited model will also create opportunities to promote other M models such as the 2021 M5 LCI as well as core models."
MSRP is $83,600 plus $995 destination and handling.

It says here US production from September - December. So allocations in August/September?

I hope it's soon. I've been reading the reviews that frown upon the CS in favor of the C. Sure there are lots of great cars to be had for $85k, but....
I had a great 135 before buying the 1M. Both were Euro Deliveries and loved them both but still have the 1M and 135 is long gone.
Why?
Because every time I drive or even look at the 1M I'm reminded it's something special. A Unique vehicle built at a very unique time in BMW's history. I am hoping that a manual transmission CS will have that same emotional feel and appeal. If not I'll sell it and move on.
But if by chance it is a unique and special car how great would that be? To have the CS parked next to my 1M would be great!

I would argue that the definition of an "enthusiast"is that you have an emotional connection as well as a logical connection with what you were enthusiastic about. If you are a BMW enthusiast I believe the CS will fall into the same realm as the 1M and the E 30 M3. If all you were looking for is "bang for the buck", maybe you should go but a C7 Z06 and call it a day!
