The CS might be an even more difficult sell in this environment. Couldn't have happened at a worse time. I can easily see this pushing to a 2021 model, and being even further limited due to lack of buyers.

I was about to get a quote today with the final price of my configuration , and our government closed down the car distributions and dealers ...Now my mind is on if the car will be sold out , because the dealerships will be opening in 4 weeks...So unlucky , hopefully will not be a sold out .

I think there will be slots available for those that want them. Some that were all in on the CS might reconsider now that their retirement funds have dropped substantially. Now is a good time to dump money into the markets, which makes a car payment questionable if you want some investment cash.

Has anyone seen a TRUE US allocation?

With so many from around the globe talking about there "allocations", I was wondering if anyone in US(or Canada) have seen a real allocation.
Please bring g "#1" at your dealership doesn't count. I'm talking about sitting down and ordering in the BMW system.

Off topic: possible that some won't even make it to retirement. Have a look here: an Italian from the Lombardy region quickly compares the local obituaries of 9 February 2020 with those of 13 March 2020. No need to understand Italian to get the message. He begins by saying "Hello dear friends, this [message] merely to give you an idea of how we are [doing]". He ends by cynically saying: "A simple flu. Thanks."

Learning from the past: back in 1918 patriotic parades were scheduled to be held in St. Louis and Philadelphia. Because of the Spanish flu pandemic, St. Louis canceled the event. Philadelphia decided to go ahead. The consequences: see here.

This explains why Philadelphia surrounding areas are shutting down bars and restaurants. Lessons learned I suppose. Philly should be following suit...

Have not heard anything here. Rumors are US production not beginning until 3rd quarter which is July - September.

Someone on this board mentioned that the European cars needed to be produced by June 30 for emissions reasons which coincides with the US production starting in 3rd quarter (July).

Sorry to rain on your parade, but ED is bound to be postponed. BMW Welt has just been closed down for an indefinite period as a precautionary measure because of the coronavirus.

Any chance that the CS gets scrubbed entirely? Not so much from production, but the combination of production and market downturn? The thought crossed my mind and I was curious if any else shared that curiosity.

Would be too radical to stop the M2 CS wheel from turning.

Hi Artemis, i am waiting for the dealership to open in 2 days from now in order to order the M2cs . DO you know if each country can safely keep 1-2 M2cs ? or if its just sold out is gone ? No one else have asked about the M2cs , they didn;t even knew that its a limited edition and not an idea about pricing , so everything i learn is from here haha !

sorry, but a dose of morbid humor might just be required in times such as these. Stay safe all, wherever you are.
Sometimes reality surpasses fiction. In neuroscience, the basal ganglia are referred to as 'the reptilian or primal brain', as this structure is in control of our innate and automatic self-preserving behavior patterns, which ensure our survival and that of our species. Three examples resulting from the current coronavirus crisis: here, here and here...

Nothing here and I checked in a couple weeks ago. I am #2 at a fairly large local dealer.

Decision to go ahead gets more difficult as this is now GT3 $ with used prices already sliding.

I'm sure some of you saw the 991.1 GT3 RS that sold for $122k today on BaT.

That GT3RS has been a Rennlist for a long time not selling. Canadian cars just bring less money. This car doesn’t fully reflect the market price.

You are right. Assuming the car hits dealers in September or later, for deprecation purposes, you would want it to be listed as model year 2021. Because then if you go ahead and sell or trade the car in say 2023 or 2024, you would rather have a 2021 model year car as opposed to a 2020 car for trade in-value purposes.
