Sport + mode has a hilariously exaggerated throttle tip-in.

Sport + feels to me like 50% pedal is about 80% engine response. Doesn’t seem to accelerate much harder when you press the pedal the remaining 50%!

Sport mode seems about linear, which I like for more fine tuned control, and efficient mode seems to have a lazy throttle tip-in, kind of opposite of sport plus.

I’d like to see the numbers from the engineers. Not likely.
Drive efficient hard with mdm and watch what happens when it adapts. It starts to feel like a high torque N/A engine. Also provides smoother shifting in my 6mt. Then the last 10% pedal has a big spool.

25 years ago here is Australia the M3 was AUD $130k.
The M2C is around AUD$110k.

I've owned both. There is no comparison. The M2C is a better car in every way imaginable. Much much faster, much better handling, steering, everything really.

Now that's a bargain!

Thought I would revive an old thread here. Yesterday I filled up my tank with the usual Phillips 66 93 octane containing 10% ethanol. Drove 175 miles on two lane Missouri roads, sunroof and windows open, with the destination Elephant Rocks state park. It was a nice sunny 80 degree day. Missouri roads in the ozarks are windy and hilly with no shoulders, no guardrails, constant blind hills and corners, so you are never cornering hard enough to get anywhere near the cars limits. My normal speeds usually were between 50 and 70 with a couple of times along deserted straights I hit 110. Came across a fall festival in the small town of Caledonia, and had to idle in first gear (6sp manual) for 25 minutes. Filled up when I got back and got 27.3 MPG!

I'm just short of 10,000 miles. After 22 months long term average is still 21.7 mpg. We live in SF Bay Area and have been Covid closed much of the time. My driving consists mainly of very short daily drives with once a week drive 50 miles round trip. I've set Sport+ settings since the first day. I'm actually amazed at mpg because I'm coming from three M5's and I still drive fairly hard to enjoy the car. There's lots of curvy roads where we live and not many stop signs or stop lights. I guess it's the lack of stop and go driving that's helping my mpg.

That is almost exactly what I get also. Most of the time I gas up I get between 21 and 22 mpg. This is the first time I checked it on a road trip. I drove the entire trip in Sport for the engine setting.

Thanks for the tip. The wife and I were planning to go back up to Ha Ha Tonka again to hike/picnic on our anniversary this weekend, but Elephant Rock looks interesting. If nothing else it will be something different. I will try to remember to get a few photos to add.

Look forward to seeing photos if you go. I wish I would have taken a picture or two of the car. Ha Ha Tonka is nice too.

Neither one of my vehicles gets very good mileage. My M2C (Same color as yours, great choice!) can get 20+, but my right foot won't allow it, especially with all the canyons and mountain roads around Santa Fe. 12.9 mpg in my lifted Jeep Wranger Rubicon. .

I get ~18 MPG. All highway would be better and I'm not trying to be conservative, if you know what I mean.

M2C is better than previous M2 and E36M3 which was ~16-17 MPG.

All that said gas tank is annoyingly small!
