I think the values will hold just fine.

Cool story though.

Thank you! Now that I can find a 2017 here in Canada for 20k under list with only 30k km from a BMW dealer...I definitely think it is a cool story.

It's hilarious to see new M2C owners saying they're tempted to trade for the M2CS :

This thirst for the newest and best thing is a bottomless pit just like the pursuit of happiness

Very surprising and nice to hear there will be a 6MT. Not a fan of Misano, but hey they are trying to give a unique color which is good after they let the regular LBB appear on the vanilla 2. Plus we know they are limited on paints because of the factory, so while I'd like a matte color I'd rather see a realistic price. Speaking of which I was hoping for even wider hips, but again that was even more unrealistic and the good news is that it sounds like the price may not be crazy given the details so far (markups and CCCB not withstanding). I think BMW are learning from the M4 GTS reaction and this CS might be pretty perfect. Timing will most likely be wrong for me, but for those who snag one I imagine it will be pretty much a dream car and the last and highest performance version of an iconic BMW M (rwd, small, manual) and hence collectible because of that.

Well if I lived in Canada I wouldn't drive an M2 anyway.

I made a general comment and you are clearly butt hurt to react the way you did. I'm excited about the carbon roof because I'd like to upgrade to the CS. I also love my OG but don't act like it's "gods gift?" I have no idea why you're going off about this, did you forget to take your meds today?
Don't worry, lots of people need to justify their purchase and chase the latest release even if the latest is not necessarily the best.

See it all the time with other products.

There's no need to get serious with them.
But the M2C and now the M2CS are the best...

I also heard but don't quote me, that the M4 CS spoiler would not fit the M2's trunk.
I mean they could copy the style and fit it to the 2 series frame but why when there is a light carbon fiber truck just sitting there, completed..

See this earlier post showing that the M2 CS test mules feature an add-on CF trunk spoiler à la M3 CS and M4 CS (no integrated 'ducktail'):

Misano looks better than Nitrous to me, but I'd pass on both of them. My favorite color is blue, and I always wanted a proper blue ///M car, but that wouldn't do it for me. I do prefer the darker shades, I suppose.

Hopefully there will be proper M seats available this time. M2 had non M seats with blue stitching (ooo fancy) and then in the competition they made a big deal about having M seats. Only for us to then realise that it was Dakota leather. Just give us Merino leather please!

Seem to be making it harder than it needs to be

One thing about Dakota leather is that although it feels more like vinyl and not as soft it appears to me at least it wears better than Merino. All the used M3/M4's I looked at had seats that looked more worn than used M2 seats.

I think the Misano Blue in the M2 is going to be really nice and with the CF bits look stellar. Probably be the best color...

Will M2CS owners collect theirs then a CSL version come out lol
I don't feel bad at all. I can flash tune my M2C to the 460HP range in about half an hour with a flash tune with no other modifications necessary. I paid 58.7k including destination, LBB and Executive Package. Unless BMW is going to gift the M2CS it is going to be expensive.

CF hood
CF roof
Front spoiler
Rear spoiler
Rear diffuser

These changes are pretty much documented by spy photos. Considering these upgrades along with others, I wouldn't be surprised if the MSRP is $15k more than the M2C....maybe more.
But you never know, remember the M2C was rumored to be $15k more than the M2 and it only went up by $4k or so at launch.

In any case I'm happy with my M2C. I hope new buyers waiting for the M2CS get them dirt cheap. Carpe Diem!

It's not that bad...here in the Toronto area it literally snows 4 times a year. I'm currently in a 1 series as my daily and on kw v3...a good set of snow tires and I never have an issue. Cheers!

Gosh, when will it end?...there's so much horsepower available from automakers... it's awesome, don't get me wrong...but I dunno....a small car like an M2 with super high HP and and high torque as well...it's a lot for a small(ish) frame like the M2
445HP from Factory is definitely impressive. 500 easily with a small tune. Those old Supra with barely 300 HP were tuned to over 1000 HP

The only thing about that 2 series platform is it is a bit bouncy and tends to skip a bit on uneven roads.

I wonder if the M2 cs will also receive the significant torque bump that the M3/4 cs received.

Probably not a "significant" bump, but torque must be increased if hp is increasing so there will be some sort of increase. I would bet they are going to use the same tune as what's in the M3/4 competition
