Same I've never had to add oil, when removing the turbo inlet and pcv hose there was only a tiny drop of oil. So my car literally doesn't burn oil and the pcv system is very very clean.
I would suspect it has to do with how well you break in the engine and how the piston rings seat. People who abuse their cars during break in may experience piston rings that are not bedded/seated in properly or worn too much from all the cross hatches in the brand new cylinder leading to extra oil consumption. I know when I had a built motor on my sti's break in was crucial to bed/seat the piston rings to the cylinder bores by carefully breaking in the motor.

Is everyone basing their responses just on the idrive readout for oil level? I hate not having a dipstick, but if the consensus is that the digital version is accurate I'll get over it.

I use the live data feed from the dip stick to check. 255 mm is max on the idrive, and it doesn't change from that - so either the tolerance/reading ranges from one step to another is bigger than the oil consumption or there is no oil consumption. I would say there is no oil consumption because I also measure the amount of oil the drains from the sump as well, with my drain pan and collection containers.
