M Performance Coilover and Ground Control install question

My installer is in the midst of installing MPC's and GC Plates.

He says that the length of the piston rod on the MPC's is shorter than the OEM shocks, and thus the nut connecting the camber plate to the shock is not turning enough threads (it appears it is only contacting 3 threads).

Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Hopefully he's referring to the length of the threaded section, as the overall length of the shock shouldn't make a difference?

Yes that's what I understand to be the case

I would note that on my car the nut holding the OE shock to the F87 strut tops, subsequently the MPS to the F87 and now F82 strut tops, appears to have a similar number of threads protruding based on picture I took at the time. But maybe there is a separate issue with the GC camber plates?

Yup - I recall @Ross W had a similar issue with his M2's MPC's and Millway CP's - bearly enough threads protruding to get strut rod top nut on.....One of the reason I went with OEM top mounts when I retrofitted M4 alloy brace..

I have a separate question, do the stock top hat noise isolators go on in between the MPC and GC Camber plates? and if so, how are they taken off the stock top hat? I installed my camber plates last night and didn't use the isolators and now the smallest bump makes me shit my pants it's so loud up front

What do you mean by noise isolators? There's a spring seat that the top of the bellows fits over, and some bonded in high density elastomer around the bit the strut shaft is fixed to, but I don't recall anything else?

That's exactly what I'm asking about! haha do you potentially have any pics of that?

Was it attached to the stock hat?
