So you sell, and get 6X000, what do you get? Posrche Cayman S? If you can find. Next gen? I agree there's a bubble right now. However the field of comparable capable coupe's is quite small which essentially can keep the market in the F87 from tanking.
My guesstimate is we could see a +- of about $5K. If the G is a significant upgrade, then the value may level itself downward but not drastically.
I just traded my 2020 6 speed with 16,500 miles towards a 981 Cayman S, 6 speed, with only 3000 miles. The net difference was minimal and I saved 7% sales FL sales tax on the trade amount. In talking with dealers was offered 60-62 trade just by sending description and pictures. Enclosed trailer delivery to my house, they picked up the M2C, deal done. Porsche dealer in Jackson, MS has the M2C listed for 65. I was only looking at the 981 S as I wanted the 3.4L no turbo.
Funny, I went the opposite way. I sold (through a BMW dealer) a 981 Cayman S (with 40k miles and a CarFax accident) and bought a my-spec M2C for just five grand OOP. I loved the Cayman S but the M2C is a bit more practical.

According to today's market I'd say that's a great price. It should sell quick if people are actually buying these cars at these prices.

FYI I visited DCH Audi of Oxnard to look into trading my 6mt '21 HS M2C for a DCT '21 HS with special content package.

I was offered $63k for my car, which has 14k miles...stock other then Autosolutions ss, never smoked in etc. The dealership seemed like they might be willing to give me as much as $64-65 if I made the trade that day, but it didn't make financial sense for me. They were asking $70k for the dct car (plus taxes and fees).

Restating the obvious, but the car market is crazy right now...

Interesting...I am looking to potentially straight up trade for a new Defender 90 if I can find one with the right options...most of the dealers skip the cool 4x4 stuff and cold pack in exchange for contrast roofs and sunroofs.

The M2 is more practical, but which car did you find to be more fun/more of a joy to own?

I like them both … and also have a GT4, so the 981 CS was a bit redundant and the M2C more practical.

For me, the Cayman is more fun to drive. That's why I made the move.

Had a 6'2' 270 pound friend in the back with no complaints. This is not a 911. There is more than ebnough room for 2 full sized adults and it's comfy too.

Update: I will be selling mine to dealer, got a very generous offer of 74k cad for a 2020 M2C DCT, SO, no sunroof, LED headlights, storage compartment, winters, 15k kms. More than I was expecting so why not, using the funds to reserve a GR Corolla.

Liked the car but the ride is too crashy without the adaptive damping option. Looked at Chris Harris' setup but too much $$$

I have been on both sides of the fence in this crazy car market. I ordered a 2021 M240i 6 speed manual in 9/2020 and took delivery on 12/2020. Drove it for about a year with a bit over 9k miles. Someone solicited me to sell. I pretty much broke even with that sale.

I was looking at a 2022 M4 coupe w/ 6 speed, but one can no longer order 2022 model. And BMW is going to raise $3,700 on all its M cars for 2023. I decided to cancel my order.

Then one day I saw this newly traded 21' M2C at the SF BMW dealer. Rush over and bought it . Yes, I paid more than the original msrp on this car. But like new condition M2Cs with low miles(5,900 Miles), and manual transmission are pretty rare and I imagine they will hold their values down the road.

No regrets selling the M240i and upgraded to a M2C.

This will be my weekend car as I DD a 19' Miata RF with I enjoy very much.

Mines going to be for sale soon as I got a confirmed G80 xDrive order finally. 2021, pristine, M perf tips and and diffuser, front end clear bra and entire thing coated. Trying to discern what I'll be asking for it. Thinking $68-70k range.

I would say closer to $60k nowadays. Maybe $62k max being a 2021.

Values have dropped quite a bit and most are going for $55-60k again. $70k days are long gone IMO, but if you can manage to get an offer for that take it!

I just paid $65K for a 5k miles 2020 M2 comp with DCT and executive package. Some wear and tear through out (rock chip, dents, and scraps under the front) I'm in Socal and dealer would not nudge. When I was doing the paperwork during delivery, one guy was waiting just in case I changed my mind.

Don't feel bad about your purchase. I purchased a 21' LBB M2C with 5.5k miles in manual last July. It has a M performance steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, and the carbon fiber rear spoiler. No sunroof, no executive package. However, it has the Zunsport grills, PPF on the front bumper, side mirrors, and rear lower quarter panels. Also the car has a ceramic coating professionally done.

I ended up paying $70K. I have no regrets as this vehicle was in perfect condition inside and out. The MSRP for this vehicle was almost $63k. The extra ceramic coating and the PPF was close to $4k.

As they say, one must pay to play. Enough said......

Last Nov bought my 2020 M2C LBB/Sunroof/DCT with 10k miles for $74k CAD or about $55k USD in todays exchange.

Over the last few months prices have been dropping in the Toronto area...

Has it though? Seems like the 2020 M2C has been sitting in the 75k-80k CAD range for a year now.

I sold my 20k mile 2021 M2C back in October for $63.5K USD and I figured I got out at the right time. Having seen the recent activity on this thread, I poked around and will say I'm a bit surprised how well they've held up. I think this is partly due to the disappointment with the new car but mostly due to how good and limited the original car was. There just aren't many M2s floating around. You can bet with M3 prices and recession looming, they'll be pumping the new one out of the Mexico plant like crazy. The original should hold up pretty well.
